Anybody familiar with Antiques in Colorado Springs ?

Funny they all stay open here with 9 foot tables. The leagues here like them as well as the owners.

Maybe I should have said demeaning instead of insulted. Anyway

I’ve never met a pro that prefers bar boxes over 9 foot tables either. But I’m certain there are some low level pros that do.

Your comments make me wonder how popular bar boxes are in Asia, Europe and the other countries where pool is popular?
Believe there's virtually none in other countries.

I've been a 9' person my whole life too, in fact, I have a 10' that's in storage that i have no where to put right now.

But the truth is, most pool in the US is played on BB's- sad but true.

With the price of rent etc if I had to open a room it would be mostly BB's(which would kill me) unless I was in your area.

My first pool room to visit down there was Mothers, spent about 10 years on and off just south of Charlotte. Then another 10 every spring in North Myrtle/Wilmington area. Get to Raleigh once in a while to see my brother.

I miss the rooms with all 9 footers, my 2 rooms growing up in Michigan had a total of 2 bar boxes the rest were 9', 1 Billiard table and 1 10' snooker table.

Enjoy my friend

I’ve played all over NC since moving here in 96. Golf in the day and pool at night!

My favorite room here was always The Brass Tap in Raleigh more so when Tony Coates was the owner.

The new owners are alright and keep the level of the music at a level that allows conversation comfortably.

Many of the other places blast the music at intolerable levels for me. Bought noise cancelling ear buds but it’s impossible to have a conversation with anyone.

This was way worse on league nights and I was told by one owner it drives up liquor sales. I guess if you can’t talk you drink more.

I do understand the financial aspect of the smaller tables but at 72 and playing since 66 I just cannot get interested in pool on barboxes.

They are great to hustle on though. I lived on that money in Honolulu in 1970 playing on Shit Street. Guys on R&R from Nam were all thrilled to get drunk do a little gambling on the quarter tables. Eight ball for five bucks a game added up quick!!

Be well!
