Anyone carry their own cueball?

I'm having Roger at Volturi build me a custom 4x8 case. As I was looking at designs and features on cases from many makers, I noticed one that had an extra, round pocket specially for carrying your own CB. It looked pretty nifty.

So, I asked Roger to do this for me, by spreading out the top and bottom pockets on the front to basically just make it fit. He said, ".....no problem".

My questions are:

1.) Do any of you have a case with this feature?
2.) Do you find it to be pretty handy?
3.) Have any pics you can share?

***4.) What CB do you prefer to carry and why?***

5.) Any suggestions about making sure no one carries your CB off or a room thinking you stole one of theirs?

Obviously, I can't/wouldn't ever mark the CB in any way. Since I hope I'll only be taking my Volturi to places that I trust, I guess I'll just inform the houseman/counter that I carry my own and show them, that way there's no discrepancy later.

I honestly doubt I'd ever truly use my own for practicing at many places I take it to, since if the room is usually nice enough for my case....the balls are too.

But, I have been in a few friendly, non-smoking rooms where they simply didn't keep their ball sets clean. Filthy. Pitted. You name it. So, I thought I'd just have the option in case the need ever arose.

I don't get in much action, but something that actually turned the lightbulb on for me was watching "The Smooth Criminal" Chris Bartrum match up against Eric Durbin at the 2013 Southern Classic in Tunica. They were using a certain CB to break with.....then they swapped out CB's for a different one to play the rest of the rack. I had never seen that before.

Has anyone else ever seen that?

Looking forward to some responses to what CB's you guys/gals prefer to play with.

I carry an Aramith cue ball around with me. The league I am a part of plays on bar tables that use the heavy cue balls, and they allow us to use our own as long as both players agree to it. I just carry it in the big compartment on my Instroke case.

cueball ,yes

when we played in league and played in bars that had the heavy valley ball. we would carry our own cue ball that weighed the same as the other balls.
we would open the table and just switch the balls.

When my local poolhall was using Centennials, I carried my own measles ball. Watching the spin, I could learn what I did wrong and learn from others. Now they're using Super Pro Aramith TVs, so that's one less thing I need to bring.

I have a It's George 2x4, the pockets are big enough to hold a cue ball and cue claw with space left over.

I carry a measles ball in the big pocket of a 3x6 Dennis Swift case. Reason? I started playing with one when they came out and now a naked cue ball looks weird lol.

Sent from my SCH-I605

Hey! Now that's nifty. I love the idea of being able to carry a normal "playing" CB and a training one. Not to mention slots for a couple of pieces of chalk. I bake Master's in a convection oven. It's the only thing I use and carry it with me religiously. Plus a lil bit of Kamui. ;)

I appreciate everyone's responses. Glad to know I won't be the only player carrying balls. ;)

I haven't seen anyone with their own cue ball where I play most; but there are a couple of people that bring in a whole set to use on the 9' tables. The house doesn't care and the rate is the same.

I carry my cue ball to our home tavern league 8 ball match on Monday's.

Yes, the green label Aramith. Our APA League Operator found a deal where he could have them laser scribed with, I believe, 4 characters. I purchased 2 as they were only like $24 each.

I carry an Aramith measles CB in the large pocket of my 2x4. I use it when I practice at our community center but most of the other players prefer the CB that came with our Aramith Premium set (blue logo CB).
