Hey All....

I have had an offer to purchase my Skip from AZ member tly205. He joined in Dec.'05, and has not posted at all...just lurking, I guess. Just was curious if anyone has had dealings with him, and how it went?

Thanks in advance!!

gotta ask...if he is going to BUY your cue, why would any past deals matter? you would get the money before sending it to him, so...are his past dealings really an issue here? (just asking a reasonable question)

I dunno about you but I like to know people's REPUTATION before doing business with them.
Define "money" these days.
Wire transfer or credit card checks aren't money to me.

true

thats true, but I was asking why, if she had the money already (cash in hand)
money to me means cash...no checks of ANY kind, paypal takes time to clear, etc...so, yeah...money means CASH!! lol

No monies have changed hands. Working out details, as he is an international buyer. Just being cautious.

Thanks!

cautious is good...internationally, don't send it without money in hand though

Personally, for the dollars you're talking about.....

I'd use Proficient Billiards escro service.

No money, no cue.

I second the notion for Escrow

I think MW has the right idea Lisa.....using Scot gives both of you some peace of mind and it doesn't cost that much IMO :)

What liability does the seller have if the buyer "wire transfers" funds to sellers bank and seller KNOWS funds have arrived prior to shipping?

I have to admit, that I am somewhat conflicted. I did receive an email from Cyrus, and while he does not have any dealings with this individual personally, he seemed to think that it would be a safe bet for me.

He explained that we are now starting to see more and more members from overseas because, quite frankly, they can get a custom cue from over here and pay for shipping, for less, than they could receive the same cue there.

My understanding was that it could take a bank wire transfer up to 30 days to clear my bank here. And that it was possible for the sender to dispute those charges for up to 6 mos. It was also my understanding that a Western Union wire the funds were immediate. No charge back could be done directly to the receiver...perhaps Western Union?

I have no problem sending this cue overseas, just need to make sure that everyone gets what they want...me, the funds, the buyer, the cue.

Dealing with wire transfers through Scot gets complicated, doesn't it?

Lisa

Hey Lisa,

Scot is super. Internaternatinal escrow is only $50 or $60 buck right? Small price to pay for piece of mind.

Other than than, have him mail you cashiers check.

This is not a vote for or against this particular deal, but in the last few years Taiwan has really stepped up as a collector's paradise. There are some serious, serious collectors on that little island and the general interest in custom cues have skyrocketed.

When I was there this year, guys at the poolhall recognized my friend's Capone for what it is, eventhough they can't really pronounce the name =)

What is the problem with wire transfers. Owning a billliard company overseas, half of my transactions are wire transfers and normaly takes 5 business days max.
I don't trust paypal or credit cards unless it's somebody I personally know.
You should see all the emails I receive that are credit card scams with stolen credit cards from all over the world.
There are many cuemakers and companys that don't accept Credit Cards and I don't blame them.
I don't know how many times I have read on Az billiards about not selling to overseas buyers and bla, bla, bla. That you won't and never give out your banking info .................
If you look at most European Co. all their banking info is right on their website like it's on mine. It is the standard over here.
If you want to try and steal it, TRY. LOL
There is A REASON why all big international business is done with wire transfers!
Not with credit cards or Paypal.
