Just lost out on a Joss model 18 that I was the only bidder on.Guy entered a bid wiithing the last 25 seconds.I entered a new bid, became highest bidder again.he entered new bid.I lost before I could confirm my next bid.Pretty much the exact look and model old school Joss I've been looking for, with 2 shafts.Screw you,guy who won  :banghead: we need the ripping hair out smiley.

Dang snipers.

I have lost items in the same manner but I have won a few times too.

yeah, just needed to rant,as this would have completed my small Joss collection, and it's basically the older brother to my new N7. aargh.

That sucks! Hope you see another one.

What I like about using auctionsniper is you set your max bid and walk away. It keeps you from getting into a bidding war for days and escalating the price upwards. And you don't need to be in front of your computer in the last seconds of bidding to put the smack down.

It's a neat idea.I've been watching this auction for days, but didn't enter my initial bid until the last few minutes.I was still the opening bidder, thought I was gonna get it at the opening bid price.

Snipers suck :(. I got so tired of dealing with them...now a days I simply bid the absolute most I will pay and walk away. If I lose it by a dollar, than so be it. Sometimes it just isn't worth the stress....

;(

Sorry to hear you lost the auction....

It's been a while since I've bought anything from ebay, but isn't that how ebay works? You put in your max bid and it submits a high bid only large enough to lead/win the auction. If someone outbids your shown high bid it automatically increases you until your max bid is placed....then someone can out bid you.

yeah, that's what happened to me,I didn't place a high enough max bid out of the gate,or the second time.then time ran out before I could place a third...

that is why you put in the maximum you want to spend. if you do not win then oh well. if you do you know you did not over pay what you thought the value of the cue is worth.

Yeah but you will have the temptation to bid just a little more when you get outbid a day or two before it closes. With a snipe, it all happens in the seconds before the bell.

Chalk it up

To a learning lesson. Better luck to you next time. I don't believe there are any great deals or steals out there.

You get what you pay for or less!!!

just enter the highest price you are willing to pay and you don't have to worry about being sniped. If you lose, it doesnt matter because you were past your highest price.

Ebay has an option to enter your max bid. it does not actually place the bid (the max amount) until someone outbids you.

MyIBay is probably one of the best Snipers.

You don't have to be anywhere near a computer when the auction ends.

Set your highest bid and your time and it will bid for you right to the end.

Of course, if you are up against another Sniper, you throw caution to the wind.

You are always throwing caution into the wind on an auction. Just place your highest bid and it will auto outbid for you anyways.

Sorry to hear this deal didn't work out for you. Learn from this lesson and keep at it. If you really know how much this model is worth to you, stick to your guns and keep trying. If you are looking for a super bargain on a cue in great condition, there is a reasonable likelihood that others will be interested in it, too.

Seven years ago, on eBay, I outbid somone for a cue by $1. I had been looking to buy a cue from that maker for 20 years. It was worth the wait.

If there is a particular model cue that you want, on AZB you can start a WTB thread in the W/FS forum. You can't do that on eBay.

No, i don't hate ebay.

I hate it when someone gets out bid at an auction & complains about it.
Put in your max bid & let it go, a sniper can only out bid you if he is willing to pay more than you are.
Hope you find the cue you are looking for, and get it for a good price.

Slim

ebay
