Anyone else hate ebay?

just use the automatic bid function. very easy. don't fight snipers, play their game.
good luck

Yup. A sniper only works against a sniper. If somebody bid higher using Ebay, they still win, no matter how close you cut it at the end.

But I do snipe and I do use an automatic sniper occasionally.

In the end, if you lost, you just didn't bid high enough, that's all. No other reason.

and their bidding system? Just lost out on a Joss model 18 that I was the only bidder on.Guy entered a bid wiithing the last 25 seconds.I entered a new bid, became highest bidder again.he entered new bid.I lost before I could confirm my next bid.Pretty much the exact look and model old school Joss I've been looking for, with 2 shafts.Screw you,guy who won  :banghead: we need the ripping hair out smiley.

If you ebay you must get a sniping program. Auction Sniper is great, charges just1% on a winning bid. 3 free bids too.
I just enter my bid and with 5 seconds left it enters them, multiple bids if needed.

Love ebay...

Last 6-8 months..

Unknown REAL Bushka, Unknown Schrager and an Unknown Tad.. spent maybe 2800 on the three..

If you want a Joss, I just listed mine a few days ago :D http://www.ebay.com/itm/151021471284?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649 It does have 16 watchers so same thing may happen again hehe.

I agree it is cheap and reliable. Bid as much/high as you are willing to pay. It will post your bid just before the end of the auction time 4,6,10 seconds whatever you get to pick. You might get it for much less then the price you pick you will only pay one bid increment higher than the previous high bid if you don't get it then your high bid was not high enough this is the nuts.

You have to decide what something is worth to you and bid accordingly. If you are trying to get lucky and get something for like nothing you will always lose. I just won a auction last night. The starting bid was $24.95. I put in a programed bid of $90.00 and won it for $46.16
But, I would have been just as happy if I had to go all the way to $90.00, I wanted it.

You will find another one. One nice thing is you see cues from all over and not just your area. These Joss cues are not rare, take your time and bid high on one you really want.

Snipers suck :(. I got so tired of dealing with them...now a days I simply bid the absolute most I will pay and walk away. If I lose it by a dollar, than so be it. Sometimes it just isn't worth the stress....

;(

Sorry to hear you lost the auction....

Yeppers, that is how I do it as well. Have actually bought several very nice items off e bay. Put in the max I'm willing to pay and let it ride. If I'm out bid, then they wanted it more than I did.

Auction skills

Yes there is technique to eBay and I hate it when I get weaseled out of an
item. Some advice:

  1. Decide the max you are willing to pay before bidding
  2. Watch the item until the very last day
  3. Bid your max amount as close to the end of the auction as possible

If you try to get it for the lowest price possible, you will get burned almost
every time, unless it's something nobody else wants. When you bid high, you
can still win it for cheaper than your max bid, that all depends on what other
people bid. The bargains ain't what used to be, I agree that eBay has peaked
and is trending downward.

Reminds me of the good ol bid-o-matic days... great program unless you set your limits vs someone else who had the program....then someone is buying for the max price they allotted for lol.

I never bid on ebay items I want till 8-10 seconds are left then I throw my max price , and usually win what I want . GL Jim

Ditto Mr. Baxter above, but I enter my max price 5 seconds before the end. Anything else, and you're just driving up the price of the item.

One plus is you can cancel your bid at anytime without getting involved with Ebay

That is a good point right here.
With a Snipe, if at some point you don't feel comfortable, you can always cancel your bid.

I have done it a few times.

But same with the EBay bid feature. I Snipe the item at a price that I feel that I would like to pay and if I get out bid, then it wasn't meant to be. I have gotten into more than a couple of bidding wars and the only person that wins is the seller.

Yayyyyy, I won, until reality sets in that the only thing you won is the bidding war. You have no way of knowing that you might have been bidding against one of the sellers Buds.

And then you get what is called: FeeGret

Many times I have won an auction for well under my Max bid.

I think the Default time on MyIBay is 6 secs. By the time someone realizes that they were just out bid, 6 secs is not enuff time to increase.
