Anyone else have pian, and get fustrated with MEDS, Booze, or Drug useage

Back in 2000 I injured my back along with my psychotic nerve, bought one of the multi-channel STIM/TENS units ($400 then) and no doubt it helped. I still use the thing on occasion when my back is really sore.

Shooting pool doesn't seem to bother my back as much as some activities, though.

I hate people who take drugs...............like customs for example.

Rep for you....

In the pool section he posts garbage, in the NP forum he posts garbage of the garbage.

He's on a ton of ignore lists, but you can't filter out seeing the threads. Sometimes you can log in and he will have 8 of the threads on a page of cut and pastes from a news site.

I'm starting to wonder if we don't need to feel sorry for him.

Perhaps you could answer a question for me...

...of your 14,000+ posts, are they ALL useless drivel that no one really cares about or do any of them contain some sort of substance?

Price has come way down

Now TENS units are way under $100.00, and I use mine nightly. It has been the best thing I ever got for pain control, and has none of the DRUG side effects!:)

True story. No, really, it's a true story. Many, many, years ago I developed tennis elbow and went to the Doctor for a shot of cortesone. Just before he was to stick the needle into my elbow I said. "Hey Doc, will I be able to play the piano again?"
He said. "I don't see why not."
I said. "Well, that's great Doc because I never could play the piano before."
He gave me a dirty look, then gave me the shot. It pissed him off. :)

that joke is so old it is new again

I asked my doc if I'd be able to play the piano after surgery too. He bit also. I'd think they had heard that one a hundred times but it seems it is so old it is forgotten by most people.

Of course the doc's have their own fun. I was laying in the hall outside the operating room and they had already given me the pre-op goodies. I was flying like a birdie! My surgeon walks up to me and leaning over pats me on the shoulder, "Don't worry, we are gonna fix this shoulder right up."

"Doc, I wasn't worried a bit until you just patted the wrong shoulder!" That is the truth, five minutes before my surgery the doctor didn't know what the hell he was cutting on. He claimed he was gonna look at the pictures before cutting but the very first thing I checked when I woke up was if I had even a scratch on the wrong shoulder. Talk about a buzz killer!

I believe you meant sciatic nerve, or maybe not. I am sure i've met people who had a psychotic nerve though. I have sciatic pain also and find walking to help most. Have to watch my practice time at the pool room and not over do it.

In my case- I meant what I said. :D :D :D

I am DEFINITELY psychotic, and so are myself and me.

A lot of us here at the home take psychotic medications. The stuff I take has some very powerful side effects that alter my decision making ability, my vision, and it gives me diarrhea. I don't know whether to shit or go blind.

I was having lower back pain for quite a while. I couldn't even walk 50 feet without the pain in my back flaring up. I started in on an exercise program and within a month I was walking 6k to the gym and back (3k each way) with no back pain at all. That training lasted about 3 months. I decided to stop going. Within another 3 months my back was a mess again. Sounds like the same thing with your therapy. Had you kept up some kind of exercise it would probably be ok.
MULLY

I concur. I have a bulging disk in my back. And I carry about 30 lbs more than I should. When I started walking I lost 20 lbs and my back starting feeling MUCH MUCH better.

Now I am trying to eat better, cutting out meat during the week and continue walking, try to get in an hour a day. It helps. I should do more exercise to lose even more but I can't stand the gym.

Tell you what people. If even a tenth of you who are dogging Bruce would go out and do what he has done for the Boys and Girls clubs in terms of getting them better equipment and instruction then pool would be doing a hell of a lot better in the United States.

The pack mentality is truly depressing sometimes. You have the ULTIMATE way to CHANGE THE CHANNEL and yet you don't exercise it.

You can see who started the thread so if you do not want to read it then SKIP IT.

But the truth is that some of you prefer to act like bullies and flex your cyber muscles putting down someone who is a GENTLE member of this forum and who has gotten off his ass and actually done something positive and concrete to help promote pool in his area.

You're supposed to do more than stand in the gym, John. Lift weights, row, pedal, run on the treadmill, stairmaster, swim, hit the speed bag, anything. Anything but just stand there...

[...biting tongue again, trying not to laugh... oh dammit, I just can't help it...] :D

J/K,
-Sean <-- master of out-of-context-snippage / insert extra words again... :D

Gosh, when did this become a forum of see who can help the Boys and Girls clubs out the most?

As far as the "You can see who started the thread so if you do not want to read it then SKIP IT." comment, yes it can be skipped, BUT when 8 out of the posts are by that person on the first page and 8 more on the second page then posters who are infrequent wont want to post for fear of their post getting pushed to the end pages because some guy "who has done so much for the Boys and Girls club WTH that is about" wants to cut and paste news stories all day long.

How about every time you start a thread people see if they can't bump it off the first few pages so it never gets seen? Pretty ridiculous huh?

That's funny.

Wowwsa!

They work best when wired directly to 220....;)

More off the wall/almost on topic:

A local Dad nearly took your advice recently. He found 'sexting' pics on his 16 year old dghtr's cell phone of genitalia of 20 year old male 'friend'.

Dad invited proud young man over to the house for a chat. During their brief time together, Dad's loaded shotgun accidently discharged harmlessly/Dad summoned police who found the young man stripped down to his briefs-bound to a chair recovering from a Taser shocking.

Dad will probably do time.

Technology has outpaced common sense. What happened to being discreet.

Ok-back to the non POOL topic.

Does it occur to you that every time you and others make a post making fun of Bruce then it only serves to keep the threads you say you hate to see bumped to the front page?

Your last question is exactly the sort of pack mentality and game playing that is coming to dominate this message board. The same sort of silliness which would be displayed if a group of people made deliberate efforts to bury one poster's thread is exactly the same as posting ridiculing nonsense which only serves to continue a thread you don't want to see.

This group does not belong to any one. If CC posts ten posts a day then ignore them and they will go away as people reply to other topics that interest them.

IF someone posts something that resonates then that thread will get read if not it will die quietly.

Bruce is harmless. Why does anybody here feel the need to belittle and bully him? He is just a pool nut like the rest of us and this is his community as well as ours.

A HUGE ditto from me, and a greenie for you...
