The other day I spent the morning playing the nine ball ghost. I then got together with a buddy to play some 7 game sets. We flip, I win and break and make two balls. I switch out my break cue for my player, survey the table and proceed to pick up the cue ball. My buddy says, " Errr, what are you doing?" :embarrassed2::confused::sorry: At least we had a good laugh ... we weren't gambling, just having fun. A senior moment!

Do stuff like that all of the time. Head just not in the game. Miss ball in hand? Yup. Shoot the 6 when you're on the 5 in tournament play? Yup.
 
I play 8 ball at the senior center.
The best player there sometimes gets lost in thought and shoots the wrong group.
We play BIH on fouls. :)
 
oh yeah, the other day my buddy and i are playin 1 pocket
he breaks and then goes to the bathroom, i start talkin to my buddy a table over, he comes back and we see he broke so bad that we both forgot what pocket he was shooting at
started the game over lol
 
my personal fav.....
have a stripe ball facing you with the band around the edge (white side to you) and take it for the cue ball.
yeah, senior moments suck
 
Man, don't get me started. When my old shooting partner and I would play,
both of us would do the brain-fart thing on a regular basis. Luckily, this
doesn't happen in League and Tournament play ( well, not too often ).
 
More than once I've gotten down on the ace, thinking it was the cue ball. With me, it's not a senior moment, but results from a bad case of nerves, or trying too hard to impress my opponent.

Perhaps I missed it, but how did your table turn out, and what do you think of the X-1?
 
Run "all" the balls, make a tough 8, opponent says hey,"you forgot the 1 ball" in a tournament and I was on the hill. Lol, yup sure did!

I did decide to go with the 860 Tournament Blue. A buddy of mine and I did a "twoffer" deal and are both getting our tables done. Waiting for them to come pick up the rails. Also ordered a X-1 but don't have it yet. The dealer will wash/polish our balls as well. Looking forward to shiny Centennials on new Tournament Blue cloth. :thumbup:
 
One time I broke and shot the one then got down for a closer look at the two to see if it went past the 7 into the corner. I looked from both sides then chalked my cue looked at the table once more real close and shot the seven into the three, it was a hell of a shot. To this day I wonder how that happened
 
Playing $50 a rack one hole and the other guy fouls. I have a real good long look at the layout and then go over and pick up the cue ball, yep been there done that.
 
Player from team 1 scratches....
Takes the CB out of the ball return.. lays it on the table, and says "ball in hand".

Player from team 2 picks up the 5 ball....
He carries the 5 around as he's looking the table over and sets the 5 ball down.
He starts lining up the shot using the 5 for the CB.

Player 1 says... Are you on drugs?
Player 2 says... No
Player 1 says... You should be.

Done that and shot at the 9 thinking it was the one in 9 ball. Also shot in the 8 ball with BIH and still had another ball on the table. Called the pocket and the other player and team mates just let me shoot it in.

Also picked up a stripe thinking it was the CB for BIH but that was after drinking and playing for a long time late at night at a friends house.

But I have never announced the runner up as the new champion. :smash:
