full name is pete johnson, went by pistol pete probably about 15 years ago, from the illinois area i think

The only "Pistol Pete" I know of is from Wyoming - "Pistol" Pete Trujillo.

I wonder if he was related to Harold Johnson, the pool shooting wild man. He was from illinois also. A school teacher I think, but absolutely a lunatic when he was gambling at pool. Anyone else remember him? He actually played pretty good.
 
There is also "Pric*ly Pete," one of George Costanza's fake horses at his fake house in the Hamptons. And "Slippery Pete," the electrician that helps move the Frogger video game. Hope that was helpful.

Any idea what Pete is doing these days? Does he still play pool?

I have been "in" with Pete a few times and have seen him in action more than a few times. While Jack Cooney was out hustling the big $$$ and was the best at it I think Pete was one of the best at beating the local bars. I've seen him win money where I didnt think you could win a nickel.

Pete, who is now driving a truck, hit'em pretty sporty. In the "Joe Root" way, he could MAKE people play. Things sounded too good to be true. I saw him two or three years ago at a strip club tourney in Fayetteville. Same old Pete.

I thought the thread was going to be about Pete Sampras, one of the best tennis players ever. Wasn't he also called Pistol Pete?
 
I though Pistol Pete was a basketball player in the 70 and 80"s with the last name Maravitch.

Pistol Pete Maravich is shown above in post #9 shooting pool. He still holds the record for highest points per game average in college basketball.

He also had a great assist average in the NBA, in my opinion there is nobody that could handle the rock like Pistol Pete. The closest one today would be Steve Nash

Yeah, but they have completely different styles....Pistol Pete was something else and the first one that could do all of that fancy ball handling!

I believe Harold was a judge/lawyer possibly. Stone crazy at a moment's notice.
 
Pete Horne passed away a couple of years ago. He ran with Earl when Earl was a teenager. Pete had a powerful stroke and a lot of bad habits. I also remember when Vernon Eliot wanted to kick Pete's ass for knocking him. Not a great dude but a powerful player, no doubt.
