I did for a out 9 hours this past weekend at the bar table championships. The break is tough due to the size of the table. Much easier to run out then on a 9'. I was spotted 9-7 from a Reno local Jeff Heath. After all said and down I as a up 1 sets out of the 26 or so we played.

I did for the first time last week. Not bad. But I'm gonna suggest we only rack 10 balls, and play to 6 balls and first ball spotted. Make for a quicker game, and a little less "crowded"....

So, I will try next week and see how it goes.

A popular game down South is Nine Ball One pocket on a bar table, first one to make five balls wins. The break is key to this game. If you know how to break you have a big edge. If not you don't have a chance. :p

I used to play a guy bar table one pocket. It's a pretty good game for the better player, the break is everything.

I hate to out your little secret for free:

You gotta spin around 3x,then stop the cb on the head ball, frozen on your opponent's side of it.

Back in the days of the oversize cue ball, the break was to kick 1 rail into the side of the stack.
Very hard to get out of that on a 7 foot valley tbl.
The heavy CB moved a lot of ball toward your pkt and buried in the stack.
Jays reference to 9 ball 1 pkt is a break that needs to be practiced a lot,
but is the nutz!
You going to let'em hang Jay?...lol
In 91', watched Hooker and Cliff Joyner play 9 ball 1 pkt
at The Brass Tap for 2 days. Hooker got all the breaks and a ball I think.
Cliff found a way to negate that break and came from 2k+ down
to almost 4k up.
Hint: Cliff opened the side doors in the summer evening....
Well Jay, in the words of Jim Brown to Richard Pryor, ' wha'ch ya gonna do?' lol

You kick 2 rails in short rack one pocket... If you promise to break another way, I'll probably take your money! As long as a ball on the break counts anyway...

Lol. Dont be too sure. Cliff found a way so that the end ball doesnt go on the break.
Beware the summer dew......

Here in st louis there are bar table one pocket tourneys rack of 10ball with one ball froze too rail center diamond from where u break its pretty fun

I found with the right speed and a lot of draw inside I could break pretty well. I was playing Jeff Heath 10-8 and the break so I got a lot of practice after the 26 sets to 2 we played over the week in Reno. I was up 2 set for $100. Luckily no table time in Reno. I'm ready for you jay let's at sometime.
