These QP Cues ended up in my lap the other day and Im trying to find out if anyone knows about them

Anyway they are really nice and must have been custom made for a taller guy and or snooker player. 2B 4S all with matching joint protectors and custom case.

The case measures 36 and 3/4th inches and is quite solid. The cues range between
63 3/4ths to 64 1/2 approximately.

They are in very good condition.
One of the butts say DeSoto QP EW 04-16 and the other says Magellan QP EW 04-17

Does anyone know the history of these or the previous owner? Estimated price of these?

I have no idea what kind of price to put on them, but there are some people around who like those long QP cues. If you know what you could take and still make a profit PM me a price and I will see if I can help you sell them.

Thanks, I have someone interested already but would like to know an approximate value if you have any idea. I used to deal in some high end cues on here back in2005 2008 time frame and know these are a nice set.

Anyway since the op posted this, can anyone chime in on how QuePerfect cue plays.

Saw his website and i felt prices were almost Gina like and more expensive than top cuemakers like southwest or tascarella.

Does his cue play as good as what the man says ??
And he was knocking several cuemakers like lind, edwin reyes and a couple american cuemakers too.

" my cue has the most spin in the world ".
Strangely , i hardly see any qp cues on sale ?
How good does it play ?

Thanks

Tried these links but nothing pops up for me, maybe the photos were removed?

Those links are fairly resource intensive and take a couple of seconds to load and show anything, maybe much longer if your computer and internet aren't speed demons. Did you allow enough time for them to load or did you close them pretty quick when you didn't see anything? Try again and give it a bit more time to make sure. I'm out of ideas if that doesn't work.

Not a gripe, just an observation.Did the cue builder also build the case?Kind of odd to use flat head and phillips head screws or to leave some not screwed completely in !!! (just an observation)

To my recollection I have never hit with one, never even seen one in person, and don't really even have any second hand information about them other than what has been on his own website over the years and maybe a thing or two
about them on this site. With that disclaimer out there, the impression if have always had about his cues (which admittedly could be wrong) is that his business model is to make outrageous over the top claims filled with all kinds of hype, charge
outlandishly high prices, and just hope to snare the occasional sucker here and there and who is gullible enough to fall for all of it (no offense to anyone that has purchased one from him new, as again, maybe I'm wrong). Kind of a perverted
off shoot of the low volume/very high prices business model if you will.

He lives in the Phillipines and if he can just manage to snag a few suckers a year at those massively inflated prices/margins he can live pretty well there and I think this is all he is really shooting for and banking on. Again, I could be
wrong and this is being presented as my impression and not as fact, but from what I've seen he is neither deserving of the level of acclaim that he hopes to get and apparently feels that he deserves, nor of the prices that he wants to
charge. He might or might not make a decent cue but he sure seems mighty proud of them (ie they are way overpriced), and he most certainly seems like a blow hard and is definitely the "Fast Larry" of cue makers (if you have ever read anything
from Fast Larry you will know what I am talking about). I personally wouldn't want to do business with him.

Im guessing so, as it seems to match the cues quite well. Yes agreed on the screws....its not a big deal but to go through the time and expense of the cues and case....to then use different screws too.

Ronnies cues plays fantastic, very low ld for those who like it. If not ordered otherwise of course.
Was staying at his house 04/05 and had a very good stay and got to see some great cues being made.
Still have 4 QP´s. For sale if someone is interested.

Any further questions - let me know.

Regards

Chrippa

....and I don't like arrowheads on points...I feel a cuemaker is hiding imprecision.

You may not like the look of "arrowheads" or anything for that matter on or at the tips of the points but it most cases it has nothing to do with hiding "imprecision"....

I happen to LOVE .100 balls at the end of the points... To each their own

To each his own for sure....I love clean sharp points.....
....and all points have to be going towards the tip.
....and I'm with Will Prout on box cues also.

I thought what the guy said about maple and it's preparation was fascinating....
....Gus Szamboti may have agreed
