Anyone got Lambros cues to show off?

Was just reading a post in the forum section regarding dream cuemakers and Mike Lambros crossed my mind. His cues are famous for their hit and I know he is meticulous about his craftsmanship. I really love his long points that go right to the joint. But, does he do anything out of his box? Is there anyone out there that has some 'fancy' Lambros cues they'd like to show off? I think his cues are underrated mostly because they just aren't available.

i think lambros makes a fine cue but the reason i don't particularly care for them is because i don't think mike really cares about the players. i have tried in the past to contact him about purchasing one of his cues through emails and phone calls and such and never got a reply. also one of my friends who is a top pro was promised a cue from him but never got it. this is just my opinion from my personal experience but i think you have to have a japanese accent to get a cue from that guy....

i have spoken to mike several times ... the last conversation being yesterday and he has always be very pleasant and helpful with whatever questions i have had and with matters relating to his cues...

and i am not japanese :)

No, but you do live in hong kong haha.

And by your very long list of custom cues I'd venture to guess that you're also a collector...

i spoke to mike at valley forge the year he was showing of his Dragon cue..

i asked him one simple , i mean really simple.. it was a yes or no answer and he was incredibly rude to me and came off as a real jerk..

i would like to someday own a Lambros cue because of how nice they look and how well they play.. but i would rather buy one off the secondary market just becaus instead of dealing with mike.. he just madfe a very bad first impression..

I own a Lambros sneaky Pete and another one with ivory inlays, 4 long points, and an ivory joint. It is the cue I bought after I sold my Scruggs from another thread. It is a beautiful cue and the hit is awesome. Mike has always been nice to me, but I certainly have seen the other side. He really cares about the cue's hit and is a perfectionist. If I could post a picture I would, but my technological skills only go so far.

Not your typical Lambros

Rex,

You've already seen this cue but here it is. I know there is another AZer with similar wrapless Lambros inspired by this cue.

I had a similar bad Lambros experience.

Years back I was supposed to get 3 cues from Mike. I called on the due date, and he gave me some crap excuse about having a lack of shaft wood.

Rinse and repeat for about a year and a half.

I've never played with on of his cues first hand, but as far as business dealings with him... he's an idiot.

Mike definitely has his own way. He was one of my best interviews and, IMO, was one of my best articles.

BTW, was your question by chance, "can I hit a ball with it?" I was knocking some balls in with the Dragon Cue at Valley Forge that year when someone walked up and asked if he could try it out, and Mike very abruptly dead-panned, "no." And nothing more.

I know that he has another cue in the works that should rival the work he did on the Dragon Cue.

We need more pics of this cue Sir!!! :D ;)

I had a chance to see this cue in person a couple weekends ago.......you can't necessarily tell from these pics but the inlays, points, veneers and ringwork in this cue are just FANATASTIC!!!

An extremely nice cue -- we need more pics Danny

actualy.. when i spoke to him, he let quite a few people hit some balls with it... i had no interest in hitting with it.. it was simply such a beautiful cue.. and before i saw it "UP CLOSE" i saw it from a few feet away, i was standing right next to Mike, and all i asked if the forearm was ivory as well.. and he starting flipping out.. it was the first time i saw the cue, and i didnt see any pictures before hand.. i didnt realize it was completly ivory.. but when i saw that it was white, i just asked in like small conversation..

i guess it was the wrong thing to ask.. i heard stories about people that dont get along with him, but i never judge anybody without actually knowing them.. so i pretty much get along with everybody.. and to be totally honest, if i was to talk to him again.. things would probably be different.. but he just rubbed me the wrong way and treated me like a moron..
