Anyone Have Any Info on "Practicing Tom"?

Hi all,

I recently bought an old Fellini case that has the inscription "For my hero Rags from Practicing Tom -1983". This obviously isn't the old one pocket Rags, as he died in 1960. Anybody know who either of these guys are? I always like to find out what I can about the original owners of the marked cues and cases I pick up along the way.

Thanks Bill! I do think the Rags refence is for Buddy. Bill Porter just put a picture of Practicing Tom up on the other thread I have on the Main Forum. I love sleuthing out a little history on these old cases and cues! Thanks for your help!

Yea, When I saw it, I was thinking it was Buddy Hall...all the way...

but naturally, this is a speculative guesswork.

What a great thread that is!! It's people like Jay and Bill Porter and JAM and few others that keep me comin 'round.

I came SO close to putting in a snipe bid on that case. Had it not been right around Christmas and right after putting out $2500 for my dogs radiation treatments I'd have been on that one.
