I saw some Balabushka chalk on ebay, A three piece box. First time I have ever seen this I think it's new. Seems like since Kamui came out with there over priced chalk there have been many new chalks out now. has anyone tried this Balabushka chalk. Just wondering how it compairs to Masers,Blue Diamond and Kamui...

This chalk had the Longini name on it and was made by the Adams/Miki company. They also made the Balabushka tribute cues. Don't know if it is still available since the breakup of the Adam companies but you could call them at 631-482-1482 to find out.

Doesn't begin to compare imo.....seems like real cheap stuff packaged under an 'attractive' name.

Funny you should say that, because the Balabushka chalk with the Balabushka Signature on it was made by Blue Diamond for Adams/Miki!

FYI, Adams/Miki also made carom cues for Longini and, of course, Longini makes Blue Diamond chalk.

I have a cube of Balabushka chalk. It's really soft and stays on the tip very well. I do like Master better though.

When George Balabushka was alive, didn't he also sell chalk? Or I'm confusing it with the Adam's licensing.

I have used it for a very long period of time. it is oily but not as pasty as kamui. It leaves blue dots on cue ball after evry shot, regardless of speed. It will not prevent miscues and in fact will enhance them when not completely covered. I have also tried kamui and blue diamond. IMO, kamui is far and away the best chalk out there. Pricey for sure but well worth the cost. blue diamond is second to kamui in terms of play but for "B" amateurs, there is not a recognizable difference in play.

If you have not tried kamui, I recommend you do so.

Seemed real 'cakey' and was difficult to cover the tip evenly when I tried it, but that was years ago (prob ~'99-'00). That's when I first remembered ever seeing it. That is funny.....it seemed worlds different from the Blue Diamond of now. :)

i also bought some to try.i just can't justify 35.00 for one piece of kamuii chalk.3.00 i can live with...rick.

I tried this chalk a few years ago and promptly threw it out.

still not as good as the Burton Spain chalk holders, and the Craig Peterson tip shapers, or the Rambow hand powder :)

I had some Balabushka Chalk years ago it was in a in a Fire Engine RED COLOR PAPER, it was MESSY Blue Chalk, and got all over everything. Sold it and the New Owner loved it.

I think the confusion here is there are two kinds of Balabushka Chalk! The one you had:

and the one made by Blue Diamond:

Note the one made by Blue Diamond has the Balabushka signature on it. That signature is licensed to the Adams/Miki company.
Like I said, I ordered some and will review it when it arrives. I currently use Blue Diamond chalk, so I will be able to tell if it is the same.

That is what I had, and that was my PHOTO!
