Anyone know the name of the guy shooting?

This photo was taken at Red's in Houston back around 1983-1984. I am trying to identify some players in a bunch of photos that I am working my way through. I don't have a clue about this guy. Looks like a player though, don't you think? BTW, I think that's Eddie Taylor in the background.

Looks like Billy Dan and I think he died of cancer many years ago.
 
I don't usually take blind shots - BUT, it kinda looks a little like Jim Weist (from Oklahoma?) would have looked 20 years ago. Left Handed, sharp dreseer and the same stance.

Just a wild guess.
 
It's Billy Dan Rogers....I just found out

It's not Mike Massey, but he was there at that time. I just found out from Dick Lane, by way of Mike Haines, that the person in question is Billy Dan Rogers. He died some years back. Thanks for your reply!:)

Yes, that's Eddie Taylor in the background, and Billy Dan's opponent is Jeff Carter.

Jay, as usual, you are a treasure trove of pool knowledge. I was just hoping to identify the shooter and you give me his opponent! Now that I look, I realize you are right about Jeff. Now tell me the score of the match at the time of the photograph and the color of Jeff's underwear. Just kidding....

Time for this old man to hit the hay. Thanks to all who helped or tried to help me identify the players. I hope you won't mind a few more of these in the next two weeks as I am working through almost 500 negatives sent to me by Mike Haines. 'Nite all....;)
