Anyone seen John Kucharo lately?

Not since right after the IPT started to fold. That was going to be his comeback. He was in the top 100 after getting in through 2 qualifiers.

He worked very hard for the $100K in 2007 that he never got.

I saw him a few months ago. He has no motivation to play competetively so I don't expect him to regain the level of play he once had. I don't even think he owns a cue anymore.

It's sad really. He trained HARD his entire young life to get on "the Pro Tour". Fortune seemed to smile on him...the Camel Tour was just started up as he made his appearance on "the tour". Big $$$ was to be had...until the Camel Tour folded. This seemed to tear Jon's heart out...

...but hey what's this ray of hope on the horizon??? You're telling me there will be another big (even bigger) $$$ tour called the IPT?!?!? He began training hard again and easily qualified for the IPT. Jon was poised to make his comeback and started to get into his old playing rhythm...just as the IPT folded up.

I really feel bad for the guy. He dedicated himself to this sport and hoped to have a future in it. It did not work out like that.

He played in some tournaments here in Galesburg last winter. He played good but not like when he was rated third in the world. If I remember correctly he and James Baraks took second and first respectively in the Viking Tour tournament here last winter.
