Anyone seen this movie?

Has anyone seen this movie? Titled: Turn the River.
Stars a very attractive actress, (Famke Janssen), who is a mother trying to get her son back. In an effort to do so; she hustles pool and cards. The trailer shows some pretty good shooting, so I wondered if it was worth it.
Anyone seen it? opinions?

Turn the River
Famke Janssen played in x-men. Rip Torn is in it, I believe he passed away not too long ago. Not a bad movie, but not great either. Worth watching if you aint got much else to do.

Turn the River was ahead of its time for a female lead.

The latest batch of summer movies mostly have females as the lead character.

Older male audiences may not appreciate the shift from a male perspective to a female perspective.

Movies like church are didactic. Not enough audiences understand the female perspective or spend the time to sit through the movie.
very Insightful. you impressed me.
I'm going to assume it was Tony Robles making all those nice shots in the movie. There was a 2-9 carom that was shown twice into different pockets that was really nice. I guess that issa fav of Tony.
Ppldid not understand the ending, ......... so here's the spoiler end.
She dies and leaves the note with Quinette the room owner which she left just in case.......
There was some nice shooting in the trailer, the main reason Iwanted to watch it.

I found this about the financials. So many movies, so many staggering financial losses. Guess the industry is recession proof. ...
Under $6000 total gross worldwide. Lordy. I wonder who got talked into putting up the production cost.

As for "a loss is good for tax reasons," I don't see how that could work. The money is gone. Whoever put it up regrets it. If they hadn't put it up, they would have more money now.

as i remember i didn't think it was worse than pool hall junkies, and i liked that they played 1p. but certainly not a good movie

Pplhu r impressed by such regurgitation of partially applicable cliches should probably enroll in the hairy man 14.none academy.

Bring your wimmins and kids.

The movie should enlighten audiences that not all players approach the game with the same mindset.

The crippling fear to continue on was clearly portrayed. League players get a bad reputation when new players walk in and completely disrespect the staff, room, table and game.

They call it a waiting period to decide your ranking, if you only play C or B level shots, then they won't use A level shots on you. Why show the full strength of the hand if you don't have to? Famke Janssen is a UN ambassador. Between Famke and Neils, I think Neils Feijen is more famous being born in Netherlands than FJ, plus he does the accent.

Turn the River is an excellent recommendation for what life in America is like for many women. There is not much support from the men, at least not visibly, verbally or emotionally. As for physically that is open to interpretation.

The movie with Jenn Barretta is full of women support and more fun to watch.

The social conclusion is making friends means finding the right network. When is Emily Frazer getting her own talk show? Then she can promote the movies with people from Netherlands.

Let's start the Emily Frazer movie club for women with men allowed. Watch one movie over a month. Then discuss for two months.
