How silly does that sound. Decided to not hijack someones thread looking for action. He said he didn't want 30 pages... I just find it funny someone asking to play only the weak players. If that was a regular player, there would be 100 post woofing at them.

Pool is a strange. I have the same problem here in Calgary, the only people that want to gamble are the ones that can beat me. I can never get the guys that will lose playing.
 
I usually gamble with better players. I look at the game as a form of entertainment, and for me the best players are the most fun to play. If I win or break even, I feel good, and if I lose an amount I can afford I don't mind.

Many players think I'm an idiot for matching up that way. But their almost always broke and I'm not, so who's the idiot?

You missed the entire point of John's thread. He was saying that since so many people underestimate his 1p game, he wants to play some of these people 1p who think he can't play with some of the big boys. He's not interested in playing with people that know his speed at 1p.

Example: Let's say I am a better player than you. I hear you woofing that you can beat me any day of the week with your eyes closed. Or, you're talking behind my back, or perhaps on a NG, that you could beat me on my best day with your worst game. If I was to ask you to step up and put some money where your mouth is, would you take me up on it? John is just calling out those other players who think he's not "up to speed" at 1p to come out and bet some straight up - no spot. That's how I read his post.
 
play to top guys for $10,000 and win then we know he is up to speed. Looking for the little fish for money is looking for $$ not to prove a point. D_Lewis, if I can beat you, I will travel to Ontario.:D

John put up a list of only about 10 players that are the Top in a certain field. EVERYONE else can get played for 10k. How is that calling out the weak players.

Plenty of good One pocket players not on the list.

I found it pretty ballsy myself and respect him for putting it out there.

My guess is that for less cash he would match up with each of the guys on the "list". Easier to state who would will play even for big $$$ than to
make a list trying to figure out a matchup and a bet.

jason you have misunderstood what im saying completely.no hard feelings but i dont type fast or well enough to explain things in enough detail so everyone understands me.some can read between lines and some cant or wont.im not sure which category to put you in yet but im getting there.by the way the list of world class players ive have played even 1hole or with a ball or less is around 15 guys. you can take from that what you will as you elude to me being unwilling to play any good players.again hopefully no hard feelings im just trying to get my point across to you.take care

Next time I'm in Calgary, or you're in Edmonton, I'll play some cheap 1pocket.

I know you're at least a couple of levels above me.

John, I just found your request humorous. If someone walked into your poolroom saying he would play for $10,000 and then name people he wouldn't play, surely you would have a chuckle.

I didn't say you wouldn't play the top guys, you are just requesting other players. I watched some of your matches on TV and think you are a great and now funny player.

It would have to be expensive 1p just to pay for table unless you are good...or we could play on a coin-op. I have never played. I would play 9 or 10 ball if you are in town. Send a pm.

so if a guy comes to the golf course and says ill play anybody golf in the world except the top ten ranked players on the pga tour thats humurous.i think i know for sure which category you are in now.
 
Yes I would find that funny... Put me into any group you like, I see you put your self below a growing group of people.

Maybe I missed something. John didn't exclude you so you are free to play him as much as you want.

Other than that I can't think of why this would bother you.
