i had been contemplating starting a thread about come from behind victories, i think what i am about to post will fit in with the theme of this thread.
for the last month or so i have been in a funk about starting out real slow in my matches. you know the usual missing easy shots or getting out of shape or hooking yourself.
i am a 5 and last fri i was playing a 4. he had me down 20-7. i was missing like crazy and he was not missing much. in the 4th rack i came alive and won 38-28. my captain said she did not think there was any way in the world i was gonna win that match. she said from the 4th rack on i scored 31 to his 8.
i told her if you remember right i been doing this a lot lately. 9 ball tri cups i am playing a 7. he has me 18-2. i come back and win 38-32. 2 weeks ago i was playing a 5, he had me 17-3, i won 38- 26. had a few other matches like these. except 3 weeks ago when i never got it together and a 4 beat me 31-22. i could not make shit and he was on fire lol.
playing that 7 that had me 18-2 i wound up scoring 36 to his14. against that 5 where i was down 17-3 i scored 35to his 9. i guess you could call the last half of those matches beat downs.
for the record none of those come from behinds had any break and runs in them. i just started getting in stroke making balls and playing safe when i needed to. i have never had a break and run in 9 ball, come close a couple of times late in the match but the scorekeeper would say game over , you reached your points, grrrr.
got about a dozen break and runs in 8 ball the last 2 1/2 years in apa though.
