my apologies to the audience and patrick cues. even though i read quite a bit i obviously didnt get to the true resolution, but then that was my point anyway. still i jumped to conclusions on this one and i truly apologize. makes me feel better that people are trying to be better business persons.

Apology

When I read that Patrick paid back the funds and apologized, I thought it was over.
When it started back up again I didn't even read it because I knew it was over and someone had made a mistake.
I always feel bad for cue builders when they get tortured on AZ and Patrick seems like a real nice, honest guy.
This is why I never post unless I have read the entire thread, and I always give cue builders the benefit of the doubt, but this is still an open forum.
Most cue builders aren't getting rich doing this, and stuff is going to happen.

I think this apology was the right thing to do.
Hopefully Patrick will read it.

I see your apology as an honorable act, all things considered.
I also think it would be better received if it were placed in the thread that brought you to the point of an apology in the first place; Ask The Cuemaker.
Let he who is without sin cast the first QB. Know what I mean jelly bean?
PS ~ Welcome to the forum. It ain't the first time someone's tasted toe nail.

At least you apologize in public. If it was me I would man up and at least apologize to Mr patrick over the phone. Just my 2 cents.

I would like to say somrthing about Doug Patrick that i have never posted before. Awhile back when i was asking opinions on which low price production cue to buy he priced a few out for me from the place that he has his shop at and came back with some very good prices. Now i was in the $200 or so range so i'm sure profit was not his motivation.
I wound up buying it a local billiards dealer because i wanted to see and hit with what i was going to buy.
So he went out of his way to help someone he has never met in person and that lives hundreds of miles away.
Doug Patrick is a stand up guy and he makes some sharp looking cues.
As a side note i offered to send him an old Dufferan free at my expence if he could convert it into something and make a buck or two. He said it was not suitable for that purpose. He could have just had me send it and sell it for $50 or so but he did the right thing.

As a immensely satisfied customer of Doug Patrick, I had difficulty reading yours, and others, posts in "that" thread. I do however understand how just digesting a small, and incomplete, amount of information can sway opinions.

I credit you for following up with an apology. +rep

I did not catch wind of this whole situation until after it was resolved, therefore I can only state what I felt when reading about it. As I read it, I knew Doug was going to make the situation right. Even with only brief conversations with him, when I was purchasing the magnificent cue he built, I could tell he was a great guy. He was polite, well spoken, and seemed genuinely interested in our conversations, even when they went way of course and into left field.

I have been managing "customer service" for more than 20 years now, dealing with the biggest names in sports, in entertainment, and on Wall Street. Doug's communication skills, his demeanor, and his follow-up in our entire transaction were flawless. I have had very few private business owners pass my "sniff test" at 100%, and the absolutely stunning, and great hitting cue he sold me is the icing on the cake.

To the rest of you, I give you this:

I planned to do more business with Doug Patrick before I heard of this. This has not, and will not, change my mind. It may actually be sooner than I thought, as I have been vacillating on having him make me second shaft for a few weeks now.

Doug,
Keep making the killer cues. I get tempted to pull the trigger again every time you post a new one up.

Apology accepted! Like I said in the other section when you posted about this, I knew that you had only read very little. Which we are all guilty of at some time or another! This is exactly why I keep my opinions to myself most of the time. Unless I am directly involved in it! I appreciate you stepping up and apologizing! A lot of people will not do that. All I ask of you, in the future when you are going to post on something Please know all the facts before you give your opinion! This is how I make a living and you never know when something that someone says will effect another persons living! If you are ever in my area feel free to look me up and stop by for while. Like I have always said my door is always open for anyone at any time to stop by my shop and say hello!!
Thanks to everyone here that has supported me and my bussiness throughout all of this!

Gmillioni, welcome to the forum! This is a great group of people for the most part! I have a group of friend here that I have never met inperson, but I can tell you this. If I ever have a question it will get answered! Quickly! You can really get a lot of info here and learn a lot from everyone here! There will come a time when you will be able to help someone also! That is a good feeling!

FIGHT! FIGHT!!

AWwwwww...I am late...on this one.
Another happy ending.

TAP TAP TAP, apology is great, but must be done in the same thread that the damage was inflicted, otherwise people that don't visit this section only read the damage, not the apology, therefore draw an opinion of you that isn't nessesary true. You can even just post a link to this thread in the other one.

Doug is a good guy and helps out in the Cuemaker section always.
Doug posted about the pin problem in the Cue maker section. All it was was that the pin had come loose and when he reglued it, there was a simple hydraulic leak from the joint. If he were an unscrupulous person, he could have cleaned up the glue and sent it anyway, probably no one would have known the difference, ever. The only thing was, Doug knew the difference.
In a way, he got a kicking for being honest.

Doug is what its all about . . .

I'm a 100 percent satisfied customer of Mr. Patrick . . . thanks for hanging around in here and sharing your talents with us . . . and keep up the great work! Can't wait to get my next cue from you . . .

I've purchased a hoppe ring cue and a converted titlist from Doug in the past. I can say that I have no reservations at all about buying another cue from Doug. He treated me just great.
