Has anyone played with these?? According to Aramith they last 8X longer than the phenolic balls and will last 40 years with residential use. They are calling the new balls Duramith by Aramith. Not cheap. 285.00 per set and they look different from anything I've ever seen. A little like the Centennials.

Buy the balls.

The Aramith Super Pro Tourney balls are the best in my book. I have been using them for about 6 months and love them. The cue ball gets a little dirtier than most others but I like it.

You can find them cheaper out there. Look up Robertsons Billiards in Tampa, FL. I think I remember they had them for close to 225 or so. They will ship to you. You can find them online as well with free shipping for 240.

Good luck.

I think you can never go wrong with Centennials or Super Aramiths. For home use, they too should last your entire life. Even under a microscope, Centennials and Super Aramiths are almost perfect. Only in poolroom conditions where the balls are getting used several hours a day every day for 10+ years will you begin to see wear (exception of the cueball which experiences wear quite a bit faster). For home use, these Duramiths might be overkill but I think for a few bucks, you're allowed.

Nielsens Billiards - Joerackem on ebay has them for $199.99 plus $14.95 shipping. Probably call him direct 217-585-1660 and get them for even less.

They look just like the IPT Balls. Maybe KT scammed them into producing a few hundred thousand sets for his huge tour and now they are trying to get rid of them.

Hmm, the IPT are still flogging their sets for $89.95. Or at least their website shows this, whether they have any stock and whether I'd trust them for a second with my credit card information is another question.

I've purchased both a set of Super Pros and Centennials and, to be honest, am disappointed with the surface qualities of both. They don't hold their shine for very long at all in regular home use on a table with plastic (Gold Crown style) pockets. They also pick up scratches and marks far more readily than I would like. They are definitely better wearing than their cheaper sets, but far from the best possible IMHO.

The variability in their cue balls is more worrying to me, as I have a retail red-circle ball purchased over 7 years ago that still polishes up almost like new, but none of the later Aramith cue balls I have is lasting nearly as well. This includes the "Logo" ball from the original Super Pro set, the Blue Circle in the Centennial set and a Pro Cup "Measles" ball purchased separately. (Out of these the Blue Circle is closest to the quality of the old Red Circle and the Pro Cup ball is by far the worst.) Why they can't get this consistently right I have no idea, it seems like a very basic thing for a billiard ball manufacturer.

I really like them actually. Not enough to pay the extra 100 bones for them over regular super aramith's though.
