> I saw something almost identical one time in Jonesboro,Ark. The guy that had been winning this same monthly tournament practically at will was known as kind of a nit,the kind that never bought 1/2 himself, despite having a pocket full of money. He had been playing really well all day,and ran into a local a ball or 2 under him that just happened to be in dead stroke, and lost in the winner's bracket final. He tried to forfeit out right then, and collect his 300 or so for the tournament, and stick his calcutta buyer, who paid 220 for the player, with a 120 dollar loss, getting 100 back for guaranteed 3rd,but no chance for any more. Word was passed to the player that it might be hard to find 4 Michelin tires to fit a Porsche in Jonesboro at 6 in the afternoon on a Saturday, and he eventually played and won 2 sets in the final, then had the gall to ask the calcutta buyer for a 100 dollar jelly roll. I believe he was eventually asked not to come back. He makes cues now. Tommy D.
