Are there any?

For sure, its a game that really has no language barrier. You just get on the table and play! Anyways, I seriously think the game should be promoted to the youth community. Take away some of the grittiness that are associated with pool and it would be much more children-friendly.

I totally agree, I think the sport would definitely benefit from more leagues, events, clinics etc aimed at the youth. I think youth would benefit from it too. There are things that pool can teach you that can be invaluable in life.

Lol how cliff Joyner can be considered as a black guy? Lol

I hadn't heard of him before so I just googled him. He's definitely black, mixed but you can see it. He's like me, doesn't necessarily look black but he definitely is. He's a little lighter than me though.

Yea, since I grew up in Taiwan, I'll speak from the culture there. Roughly 15+ years ago, pool rooms in Taiwan is where all the gangsters and drop outs hang out. Chao Fong-Pang was one of types of guys, but because of pool he got his life together and became a two time 9 ball world champion and now is a pretty good businessman and part time pool player. I know there are a lot of leagues and camps for basketball, soccer, etc. that are for kids. I mean how difficult would it be to set up 10 tables for a week, and get like about 100 kids to learn the game? Or even just rent out a section of a pool room. The thing is the bar-like environment needs to go. Or at least there should be more pool-specific rooms..

I think Billy Palmer from Northern CA falls into this category; "isn't pro but play sum damn good (insert game here)". Billy is a monster with a full time job.

Melvin "Strawberry" Brooks was one of the top one pocket players of his day...Also a very knowledgeable commentator on a few Accu-Stat matches.
