Alot of the Pro's have them and some local players have them .... What I want to know is do you have a nick name in pool that people refer to you by or your friends that you travel with call you ... And if you do how did you get it or earn it ...

I know my friends when I walk into the pool room call me the Sneakyman ... And the reason that came about was one night my friends were all gathered around the table watching me play in the finals ... I had missed shape and did not want to look like I was shooting a leave . So I called some off the wall shot that looked possible but I had no intention of shooting ... I ended up getting the perfect leave and on the next shot was able to get out and win the game ... It is something I do all the time not wanting to make my leave look intentional I call a shot that looks tough but I never intend to make ... My friends say they are standing there waiting for some awesome shot to be made but it always results in a excellent leave ... Which is my intent ... Thus they started calling me the Sneakyman whenever I walk into the pool room or we are out playing I'm refered to as the Sneakyman ...

Do you have some unusual or some kind of nickname ? I know they call Archer "The Scorpian " and Mrs . Lee "The Black Widow' what about you AZ'ers what is your nick name and how did you get it or are you too embarrassed to tell us ? Or to modest ? To Humble ? Come on we are pool player we go into dark seedy bars and pool halls ... We live on the edge and in a world that is often frowned upon ... So I do think anyone would be afraid to post thier nick name and how they got it ...

ive been called lefty now for about 5 years because of a crush injury to my left arm. ive also been called slim by a certain few for the obvious reasons.

You Betchga!!

My wife calls me MUFF MASTER when I miss a ball. She says I gave her MUFF MASTER chalk when she misses a shot. I can't get a break here at home.
Peace, Purdman :)

I Should have 2

Some of my friends call me "Beard", I suppose it's cuz I bank pretty good.

I would call myself "One Ball Hell" :embarrassed2:

For obvious reasons....as in, ran down to 1 ball but I can't see it and there's no place to hide

I am only here a year or so and I have seen this thread at least 3 times. FWIW they call me Dead Money.

nickname, I don't need no steenk'n nickname

When I was gambling every night I had a dozen nicknames hung on me, none pool related. Anytime someone tried to hang a pool related nickname on me I explained that was hazardous to my income and their health.

These days they just call me ATM for short. I don't know why though, my name starts with an H.

Hu

They call me Glamour Dave in my pool room. Which is due to the fact that I work as a photographer & web designer working with fitness & glamour models.

When people ask what I do, I just tell them that I play pool and photograph the world's most beautiful women.

And when anyone asks about why Im called Glamour Dave, I just explain that when Im not making glamourous shots of the world's hottest women, that I spend the rest of my time making glamourous shots at the pool table.

My husband is The Banker. Because he's always been the money man -the first to grab the calculator, and because he makes the luckiest, straight out of his ass bank shots ever.

I picked up a nickname almost 15 years ago from a gentleman that I used to always lock horns with in battle, his name was "Crazy Joe". Anyway the way it came about I won a decent sized local tournament, and Joe made a big deal about it as it was my first notable win. He said I officially needed a name and gave me one on the spot. It lasted for a long time and eventually many stopped using my real name. It not as common anymore as I took off several years from play and then transitioned from action player/tournament hound to leaguer. I myself like the name as it reminds me of my past, hell one day I will even get it engraved on a cue I think.

As far as who deserves nicknames I think aside from pros they work to identify the "characters' in the pool hall. I personally never shot any higher than middle B speed, but a name was suitable for me. I know a few C players that only are called by their nickname.
