Are You SICK of this TOO???

It is what it is. Try to ignore the posts/threads you don't enjoy. There will always be those who take it upon themselves to "police" this forum as well as other things in their lives.

I don't know about anyone else...But I am soooooo sick and tired of other AZ'ers (and you know who you are) playing "police" on this site.

I would never complain about anyone's threads or bumps. It's not the way I was brought up, very impolite. That's what the moderators are for.

What's funny is if you check a history on the complainers, their threads show what they're all about. They pick and complain.....Whine and threaten.

If they directed all that energy towards something positive...Just imagine what they could accomplish!!

Thank God for all the great people on this site...They make up for the "Others"!

Thank you for reading my comments...just venting I guess.:(

good post. I agree 100%.

Actually, I see more complaining about this site on other sites than I do on this site, ironically speaking. LOL!

Most times today, if somebody doesn't like this site, they just mosey on over to another site and spew their venom.

Of course, there are always those who get banned from this site, some more than once, only to come back as a new identity.

Personally, I think the climate of this forum has changed drastically in the last two years, mainly because of its growth in membership. That is a good thing, as it brings diversity and new insights about pool to the readership. That is a worth something, if you look at it like that.

all i know is if my neighbor knows someones robing my house or even thinking of it, i'd want to know and let my other neighbors know as well.

my point is i know sometimes those acting like "forum police" can be an annoyance but i've found more times than not it's been very helpful in making sure things here stay on the up-and-up and on the intended course. imo this site has benefited more than less because of the "looking out for the other guy" attitude.

about the job being "just" the moderators well i believe in taking responsibility for one own actions like most everyone else but am also a big fan of the "it takes a village to raise a child" attitude and in an open forum like this where you personally know very few of the ones you corresponding with, the actions of others can be very welcome site to the moderators who can't be at 300 places at one time directing traffic..

I was with you all the way until there. It takes parents to raise a child!

This thread made me think of the old saying:

The rest of the world is insane except for you and me and I'm a little worried about you.

Sometimes I feel like people post things just for the sake of posting... complaints like these are just as much of an annoyance as the "police" you refer to. And we see 3-4 a day these days. I just wish the complaints would cease and we can remember to appreciate how awesome this site is... all the personalities and points of view, good or bad, right or wrong, give this site character and make things interesting. If you don't agree with someone, that's what we are here for... to discuss and hear other people out and find solutions and possibly agree to disagree. On that note, you have every right to have started this thread to get your point of view out there... and this is my way of respectfully disagreeing.

Looking out for one another is great, but I don't think that the op meant these kind of posters. There are those out there who will go out of their way to let everyone know the forum rules and such, especially to the newbies. Letting us know that someone is back with a new user name is a great thing and saves others from getting ripped off. However, it is a whole other story when people play moderator and almighty, just because they have been a member for a long time or have a lot of rep.

All I see from the original poster's history is her in the BUY/SELL section trying to sell her crap on this forum and constantly bumping her own threads. She has absolutely no contribution to the main forum and is just here to sell stuff.
The only reason I checked her out just now is because I read her thread and had never seen her screen name. After seeing what she has to offer this forum, there is absolutely no defense for her thread even being here.

Full credit to the people who agreed with the "police" on this one!

People who complain the most in many cases care the most about the AZ message board forum.

I have complained in the past when people do one of two things, one is to "bash the pro", the other is when people are creating new threads in the wrong forum. There is a "Non Pool Related" forum for people to create new threads that are not pool related, and people do visit this section, normally over 100 are browsing at any time. So there really is no legitimate excuse to create start a thread in the Main Forum with "I know this is in the wrong section, but..."

I don't know the history of the op and what her intentions here are, but I do think she did make a few good points. If some of the longtime posters here would have been treated like they treat some of the newbies, we would have a lot less good contributors.

Then I suggest you check out her history. I didn't post this until I spent 15 minutes reviewing who she was and realizing that she is using this site solely as a business. The only reason she is complaining here is because all of the people in the WANTED/FOR SALE section are tired of her abuse over there.

oh so your parents were with you when you were at school all day, were with you when the pier pressure of having a drink or smoking god knows what was tempting you and countless other scenarios???? let me just say i agree that your parents are "THE" ones who will instill values in you but i also believe it's up to the others like them to help when they can't "see" something that MIGHT throw their "work" of course.....that's all that i meant......

are you with me now??

skins ----- believes it's the parents job but also believes once a parent always a parent........

By and large the "forum police" are idle as long as we treat each other the way we want to be treated.
