Are you this good?

Yea, yea,........Lets see him spray it up, wet sand and buff that thing!

Seriously, the beautiful things people can do with wood never ceases to amaze me.

Nick, thank you for sharing that, buddy. I love old-world hand craftsmanship like this. It takes an expert, controlled hand to wield chisels like that.

As an aside, notice he's using tanged chisels. Socket chisels -- like the Stanley Sweethearts -- seem to be making a comeback these days, but I don't understand why. When doing precision woodwork with a chisel, you hold it by pinching the blade between your thumb and first two fingers (noone holds it by the handle -- at least if you're doing precision stuff like dovetailing and other joinery). Try that with a socket chisel -- it's so top-heavy with that club of steel at the top (the cone that holds the handle) -- that you'll wrestle with it trying to keep it aligned.

Anyway, I'm always amazed at the talent some of these woodworkers display. The Japanese Sashimono is simply incredible.

these types of woods might be a little to brittle to curl up ? black palm would splitter off i think......I guess it would depend on your tools and how sharp they are...
