Arnot Wadsworth and no delivery.

I really don't want to hurt this guy or his family. I can forgo the money If he has medical issues then let us know. I am a care giver to one of my parents so I know what it is about. on the other hand he took the money knowing that he may not have been able to deliver the product. Also if I get the stick I would be more then willing to Post a retraction on this and remove the posting. IF

I am one of the folks that have ordered from Arnot Wadsworth, paid a down payment and after more than a year, I have not received a cue. I called Arnot yesterday evening, and Arnot answered. Arnot is with us still. This was the first I heard from him since December 2012. Something is wrong with him. I did not get an answer that made sense.

Does anyone know of cue builders in the Atlanta metro area? I would like a custom built cue and this time I will deal with the person face to face to avoid the problems I am having with Arnot.

Thanks for any advice you may have.

What was the answer he gave you that did not make sense? What did he say about what's going on?

I don't know how far Savannah is from Atlanta, but I can testify that Keith and his lady are a pleasure to deal with. His site shows his fancier stuff, but he is very capable of making the traditional style of needle sharp points as well...I have one. I also have no reservations about giving Josey cues a plug. I'm a very satisfied customer.

not sure what you are looking for, but you have Lomax and Hightower in Atlanta. I am booked up and not looking to take anymore orders for at least 6 months, but both of these guys are good people and do great work. Good luck.

Update

I have seen that Mr Arnot is starting to get his back orders made up, and has post on his web site that he is not taking anymore orders until he gets all his back orders done. he is also showing what sticks he is currently working on and if they are done or not.

I AM GLAD YOU ARE DOING THIS MR ARNOT.

steve lomax. steevel on here i think. you can also find him on face book or go in to mr. cues and someone can get you in touch. i used to have a business card but can't find it right now for his number. also if you go in to mr. cues you can find lane symons (have to check spelling on the name). he also does nice cues. either one of those guys is local to atlanta and do good work.

searing 10 mile away.

I'm within 5 miles from DS. I needed repair work. He never returned my email or voice mail. I'm done with 1 man shops. I order Predators, Schons or Pechauer from Seybert's. Can't go wrong.

my 2 cents

For those of you who are considering ordering a cue and concerned over the transaction, it's always a good idea to choose a Cuemaker from the American Cuemaker's Association membership roster. If any problems occur, one just has to call and report the problem. From what I have heard the officers and board of directors really track this kind of stuff. The Membership criteria is very stringent and their customer satisfaction is top priority. Just compare the names on the list...... you won't find any complaints about them on AZ.

Thank you guys for giving me information on Arnot Wadsworth. Arnot took my money ($1000) and lied to me and never delivered a cue. Hopefully we can prevent others getting defrauded.
I am having the same experience with Arnot Wadsworth. I ordered in July 2012 and since sending the deposit I can't seem to get a contact. I recently retained a private investigator in Florida to locate him - successfully by the way- and he claims to have a bad case of gout. I guess that prevents him from answering the phone or answering email as well. So he is alive, but not taking to his customers. If there are others out there, let me know since I am considering other legal options to recover the deposit. But I would caution anyone against placing any order with him or his company.

So I purchased... wait no Thought I purchased a cue from http://www.arnotq.com/. He was more than willing to talk to me during the purchase period, once he got the sale though not a peep. he missed the the delivery date. so I have been calling him for 4 Months to try and get an estimated time on delivery. I am still waiting!

purchased in June 2012
last week in January 2013.

AS you can see I did not ask for anything fancy. So If you are asking for more elaborate work don't expect to get it done. do not pay anything more then $50 to start.

you won't get your product or a call back!!!!

man i'm sorry to hear about this. i've had only one run in with the guy. i was considering getting a j/b from him and when he wouldn't budge on the price i aid i wasn't going to get the cue. he went from nice guy to "go f your self" guy real quick. the guy's kind of a jerk. and by kind of i mean a huge.

i really hope this works out for you man. the guy uses nice woods and has a great site but if this is how he treats people then i suspect we'll start hearig more stories like this pretty soon

if you end up taking him to small claims court you might be able to file as a group or something. if nothing else it'll show the judge a pattern

Although this situation with Arnot-Ornot has a familiar ring, most one man shops are fine.
I still believe in the old adage to support your local cuemaker.
There really hasn't been that many cuemaker issues here on AZ compared to the number of cues ordered.
Most people are happy with their "1-man" shop cues.
I'mnot supporting Arnot-Ornot, and I wouldnot order a cue from him.
I'mnot sure but I thought that Arnot-Ornot wasnot making cues, and his name isnot easy to make fun of.

I also ordered a cue from Arnot last jan 2012. Gave him a down payment of $720. I contacted him in July, Sept and December 2012. he told me that it was going to be done in Jan 2013. Since then have called him over 20 times with no reply. Does anyone know the status of him?
I have initiated legal action against him through a local attorney. Last month I sent a PI to find hm and though he found hiim, I still have no response. Looks like legal is the only way to go.

It's just my preference right now. I'm at a stage of life where I do want to wait months for a cue or anything. I did order a Pechauer around mid April through Seyberts. 4-6 weeks became close to 10. Was not concerned because Seyberts stands behind everything 100%.
One man shops are fine if the buyer understands the terms and risks. Arnot turned sour.
Way back in the mid 60's I ordered a cue from Doc Fry. He said it would take x amount of time. He was a proud craftsman. He invited his customers to stop by and see their cue in progress. That was a great experience. I still have the cue. Hardly use it. It's part of my life's collections. I enjoy peeking into the case every now and then.
I met Arnot. He had nothing good to say about anyone's cues or cue makers. That is a show of character. I came close to ordering a cue from him but had doubt. I'm glad I didn't.
