Arragant Sellers and Paypal fees

"The worst I ever had was wonderful." Anonymous
Exactly right-well said

To elaborate a bit:

It’s just a transaction. No different than buying a cake, car or a shovel and duct tape at Walmart at 330am J/K.

Seriously how hard is it? The cue biz isn’t shark filled waters, actually it’s pretty easy. Not sophisticated con artists that’s for sure, if anything it’s the opposite.

I’ve been buying and selling cues longer than any other biz I’ve been in. I don’t look at all cues as “biz” as I love cues and some I buy with no intent of reselling, others are inventory. I tend to hold cues for a long time before I do sell them these days.

Another point is I’m not looking to hit a home run on anything I do decide to sell. When buying, sure I try for the best deal, worst case I just pass if the maths don’t make me happy.

Nothing about this is complicated or challenging. It’s simple commerce.

Now I’m in the mood for some cake🍰🍰

I’m not the sharpest guy, but seriously this isn’t hard…..

Best

People tend to focus on on Bad experience. Maybe I am wrong but most seller on forum are honest.

Maybe person who posted first post needs a good stiff drink.🍸

The OP does have a point but he can choose not to buy. I think we live in a world where people think their stuff are worth far more than what the market is. Its sad because people are hoarding things and it drives up demand. The hoarders don't even know if they priced accordingly they will sell like hotcakes. Just bad business sense in today's society. A lot of e-commerce and selling online can afford anyone a business. The real trick is to push products as fast and as much as you can even with a small profit margin. The name of the game is to get stuff in and get it out.

Bag holding a cue or a pair of Air Jordans is detrimental to a "business".
I got a question.

Because I spent 37-38 years accumulating a collection of cues which I paid for fair and square at what ever current market prices were at the time of purchase and decided to sit on them for all that time. Does that make me a bad guy? Did I hoard all the Szams, SW’s, Bushka’s etc. and drive up prices?

What am I guilty of?

I’m not looking to argue, I won’t engage in one.

I’m seeking answers and understanding my behavior or how my behavior is being perceived by my peers.

Am I a bad guy? Because I bought cues and kept them?

Thanks in advance for the clarification,

I presume you're not in the business of selling.

Some people are never happy/just can't be pleased. Give them exactly what they want and they still keep on pissing and moaning. It's like people who continue to argue after the other side has conceded. I only had to be told once to understand "shut up when you've won."

I think you would be right up there with the Pope if you sold me a Szamboti (or a Searing) for what you might have paid for it 20-30 years ago. That's not hoarding, that's what is called doing someone a solid. 👍 I can PM you my phone number if need be.:)

why cant a person just sell his things for whatever the buyer that calls is willing to pay. this way every buyer will be happy.

and why should someone have the nerve to have many cues when others cant afford to have many cues or even an expensive one without taking a second job or giving up their bad habits.

I kind of don't think the buyer is after Szams.

Well, anyway, you know, you are a bad boy..... ;)

Same topic, different day.
Bored?
Explain how you've been "shafted" by eBay sellers?
Anything I have ever purchased off of eBay, even if the seller states no returns, I've been refunded on if it does not fit the sellers description.
It may take some back and forth with eBay but if it is legitimate they'll get it straight.
Arrogant sellers? Why are you even dealing with them?
If a seller is asking for FF, run don't walk, unless you know and trust them personally. That's why they call it "friends and family"

OK, you've learned your lesson. We're all happy for you. You don't have to purchase every cue you think is a good deal just so you can be disappointed and come here to complain about it.
Pffft

Sadly I never bought a “cheap” Szam. I got a very good price on a collection once. When Szams were $800-$1500 I couldn’t afford one.

I do have an Ebony SW I paid $350 for plays $24 for shipping. ofc that’s the cue I’ve owned the longest and it’s a keeper.

I recently sold a couple cues for what I paid for them or a hair over, I’m not looking to make $ on cues like I did 30 years ago. I’d rather do deals and have fun!

i like your style ......;)

i can PM you my phone number when necessary.....😂

Been shafted twice by seller. One guy sent empty box. Ebay wouldnt cover it but paypal did. Another one i never got the cue and ebay covered it.

OK...so it becomes a little clearer now. You really didn't get "shafted" per se. You were reimbursed for things that didn't play out as you had wished. Had you got shafted...you would not have received anything.
I understand it sucks when we try to make an online purchase and it doesn't play out as we expect. You really didn't lose out except for the time involved.
This is why the legit places have these avenues to protect both the buyer and the seller. If the buyer is not protected in some fashion. Don't do the deal.
It really is that simple. The predators know prices and will post stuff that make it look like a "deal" because they know someone is going to fall victim in their trap.
But you already know all of this.

I didnt read half of your dribble. Pardon me for that. I didnt get what i payed for and it was the sellers fault. Simple as that. Dont you have cues to turn?

No argument here and you are certainly the exception and not the norm. I've read many of your posts and you're a good guy.
