Artemis on a Valley

We had some Valley 93 rails made up using Artemis cushions and 3/16" facings.
The thought is that with a worsted cloth and top grade cushions the 7' Valleys should play better.
Comments appreciated.

And Glen, I rigged a piece of cloth on for the nose measurement as we discussed earlier.

Rick,

Very pretty indeed... K-55 or 66 profile? How much $ (PM me)

Jay

Looks great. Really curious as to how much this upgrade would increase the playability of a valley. Hopefully someone will post a review.

I have did this to several Valleys. I like them. Others say they like the Championship rubber. I think it is preference. Thanks, Ron

No price until we test them on a table first.
I should say that these aren't meant to compete with the
Ridgeback or Penguin rails - rather, the target is the person that
wants Artemis.

And you're right Ron, it's a preference when they want better cushion rubber.
Anyone can buy a set of blanks, cushions and facings and do the same.

How is the test going? Very interested if the Valley plays much faster with them. Johnnyt

Should know by end of the month.
Keep in mind that speed comes mostly from the cloth on the table.

Covered the rails with 3045 Ultra and installed them today.
Got done, had a beer and watched a couple of the daily bar patrons play bank 8.
They remarked that the rails played better then the originals I removed.
Will check back in 2 weeks or so to get player opinions.
* No, the slate cloth is not my install.
Side pockets have no fold.
Corner pocket openings are 4.5"
One of these days I'll figure out where the spots in the pics come from.

Couple of pics-

Hey Rick. These are 93 Penguin blanks with k-66 rubber correct? Do they make them with k-55 on a 93? Also what glue is used on these?

We supply the rubber and Fred makes them up for us on his K66 blanks. Since he uses K55 on his own rails I'd suppose he could put Intercontinentals on if requested but you would need to work that out with him and supply the rubber. Don't know what glue he uses but we haven't had any problem with that.

So what you are telling me is that they are a k-66 rail and rubber. Fred makes a k-55 rail and installs k-55 rubber on them. Thanks, This answers my question.Ron

We had him cut new blanks to use the Art K66.
His regular blanks are cut for K55 and whatever rubber he uses.
