just 2 weeks ago my playing buddy and I were wondering how many miles we must be walking after playing all afternoon (4 hours).......1 1/2 miles! thanks for the post and answering that question. also burn 1000 calories albeit, needs to be more! also, I have found that babes can be detrimental to your game! focusing misplaced! 
Good article. The second hand smoke negates the benefits in my area. i only play at home which is a problem. The world has changed in casinos, restaurants, everywhere. The idea that smoke has hurt pool rooms is an excuse for lousy operators and outdated rooms. People can go outside and smoke.
Make the rooms interesting, fresh, food and full bar...good equipment and a more private area for serious players.
