I always knew that walking and pool was good for you. Last week I went out to the parking lot and found that someone had stolen my car. I walked home.

Playing pool helps in keeping focused. True. I was focused for over an hour, the other afternoon, on the girl at the table next to me.

Playing pool is anti-aging. Also true. That same girl's boyfriend told me that if I didn't stop focusing I wasn't going to live another five minutes.

Playing pool promotes good bowel movement. Very true. After I wouldn't stop focusing, that same girl's boyfriend kicked the shit out of me.

Playing pool is dangerous to your health. Absolutely true. :)

just 2 weeks ago my playing buddy and I were wondering how many miles we must be walking after playing all afternoon (4 hours).......1 1/2 miles! thanks for the post and answering that question. also burn 1000 calories albeit, needs to be more! also, I have found that babes can be detrimental to your game! focusing misplaced! :rolleyes:

Good article. The second hand smoke negates the benefits in my area. i only play at home which is a problem. The world has changed in casinos, restaurants, everywhere. The idea that smoke has hurt pool rooms is an excuse for lousy operators and outdated rooms. People can go outside and smoke.

Make the rooms interesting, fresh, food and full bar...good equipment and a more private area for serious players.

You actually walk much more than this in 2 hours of pool. If you wear a pedometer, you'll see you're walking a lot. Between the walking, bending and mental energy, you're burning a decent amount of calories playing pool. Especially when you're my size.

Walking around a pool table is better than no walking, but it has too much start and stop to get much benefit to the heart. Johnnyt
