As the Stones Turn

Oh, I misundstood. Daniel, do you use Chrome? Download Adblock. I haven't seen a commercial since I've downloaded Adblock. No more 30-second waits on YouTube, news articles, et cetera. It's a time saver. Best software I've downloaded in years.

Best of all, it's FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE ---> HERE :happydance::happydance::happydance:

does it work with IE?

I'm now running Chrome with Adblock installed on my Mac, and so far, it seems to be working. Yippie!

Turns out with Safari you have to specify each ad type and block them one at a time. Way too confusing and a total PITA.

I love my Adblock. This is one of the coolest downloads I've received in a long while. It saves so much time.

Earl is getting ready to play next at 5 p.m.. He's got third place locked up. He will be playing Dany Normandin from Canada, a relatively new name to my ears, in the usual race to 9.

Then the winner of that will play one extended race to 13 in the finals against a player from New England fondly nicknamed "Sausage" (Jeremy Sossei). I wonder how many times he's heard "Rack 'em, Sausage." :grin-square:

Earl wins and goes on to the finals, race to 13, with Jeremy at 7 p.m., EASTERN TIME.

I installed Adblock for Safari and I'm still getting all the ads.

I'll have to try using Firefox with adblock for the next match.

I sugest using a real browser. Just kidding but you need to know that the accu-stats/ustream feed has embedded ads you can't block without a premium account with ustream. These ads are different from the ones from world cup streams. Ain't no free lunch anymore

JAM,

Why is Jeremy nicknamed Sausage? Tomorrow's AZ headlines could be Earl BBQ Sausage, or Earl walked into a Sausagefest at Turningstone.

I've known Jeremy for several years and I've never heard anybody refer to him as sausage. Is that something new?

Everybody on the livestream chat were referring to Jeremy Sossei as "Sausage." I also had to ask: Who is "Sausage"? And then they told me. I guess that is a nickname he's been given from the people who shoot in his region.

I also asked what pool room he was from, and they basically said he attends regional tournaments, but he has a pool table in his basement where he plays for the most part. He is from Connecticut.

I would have loved to have seen somebody say, "Rack 'em, Sausage," at Turning Stone. :grin-square:

He actually shot very well this tournament, stayed in the winner's bracket to the end. I always hated those extended races in the double elimination tournaments, but a rule is a rule is a rule. He had a great tournament himself, pocketing $5,000. :)

I did not get a chance to see a close-up of Jeremy Sossei because the area ariybd tournament tables on the stream were dark, but I recently saw a photo from Angel Levine from the Derby City Classic about her upcoming documentary.

The player in the right-hand picture on the bottom left with the white earpods looks exactly like the actor John Cryer who plays Alan (depicted on the left) in "Two and a Half Men." :)

A quick note on the adblock side topic.
It used to just block everything it could.

Now, by default, it allows certain 'non-intrusive ads' to go through.
Probably a few companies decided to cave in and pay them to do this.

But if you go into the adblock options, you can just set it to block all ads again.
There's a checkbox you need to uncheck that says
"Allow some non-intrusive advertising".

Not sure if it's designed differently on other browsers.
It also needs to have a list of sites that should be blocked,
which it calls a "Filter Subscription". It defaults to EasyList,
which works fine. Make sure you have at least one subscription
or it basically doesn't do anything.
