Alex Brick is refinishing a George Balabushka cue.not an old one but one of the new ones.i was painting some shafts after he did the butt and i was surprised when i picked it up and the handle was Ash.

Mason, by new Balabushka, do you mean production cue made by Adams or whoever, or just one of the last original ones made?

interesting. hows the weight on the cue with that handle. wondering if it makes the cue stiffer and if it will stay straight

ASH SHOULD STAY STRAIGHTER THAN MAPLE, AND HAVE A SLIGHTLY FIRMER HIT. ASH SHAFTS, ARE DENSER THAN MAPLE, AND ACTUALLY PLAY BETTER IN MY OPINION. BUT NOBODY WANTS THEM BECAUSE THEY ARE UGLY. THE ASH SHAFTS ALSO STAY STRAIGHTER WHEN MADE SKINNIER, BECAUSE THEY ARE MORE STABLE.

really bc my experiences with ash are not good. i have had a few snooker cues some ive ppaid hunders for and none have stayed straight. i guess at 9mm nothing will stay dead straight. a maple shaft a 9mm would probably be like a C and play terrible
