"Ask Efren": your single question to the Magician

Efrin questions..

I would like to know how many hours on a given week average does he play, practice, or is on a pool table ... as you get older do you play less or more to keep your skills up?.. The Dster.

My friend is going to make a flash interview for a local internet site with Bata during coming World Championship. He tried to gather some questions from our pool fans but only got a few. So, if you had an opportunity to ask Efren one question, what would that be?

If we succeed with a chat I will translate most interesting replies so that you get your answers :)

I'd like to know how he aims and what he sights on the object ball..if he does..for his aiming technique.

How much money have you made over the years from playing people that are just happy to say they played THE Efren Reyes, even though they had zero chance??

I wondered this last time I went to Manila and I saw player after player get up to play him cheap sets. I figured with all the people that visit Manila to play pool and have a chance to meet and/or play Efren, he must have made a ton!

Ask Efren

Years ago I remember Efren telling a story about there being one player in Manila that could beat him on occasion, but the guy was an alcohalic and only went to the pool rooms when he needed more money for booze. Ask him if that was true or just BS.

When you first started out did you imagine you would be in the position you are today as one of most highly, if not the most highly, regarded pool player of all time??

How does it feel to win just about everything there is to win?

If I drink San Miguel will it really make me play like you?? haha...okay, that one is a joke.

Sarah

speaking of san mig, here's efren's latest san miguel beer commercial :D

ask efren

I don't know if this question has been posted up yet. I would like to know what's the biggest spot he remembers giving up in a fair game and what's the bigest spot anyone has gave him. "In pockets billiards"

guys and galz, thanks for your contribution. I forwarded the questions to my friend who must be in Manila already. Let's hope he manages to get Efren for a long chat, since you asked so many and interesting things.

JoeyA, thank you for the link to your thread, I borrowed several Qs from there. By the way, did you ever happen to ask Efren all of "your questions" from there? And probably share the conversation?

Mike,
I had planned to ask Efren those questions at the Galveston World Classic where I thought I would have time to do so. It was my plan to use the answers in my commentary. Unfortunately, I was required to work very long hours and that prevented me from having to find time Efren when he could answer those questions.

You are one of the good guys so I give you full permission (not that you need it) and encourage you to use any of those questions that you might choose to ask.

If there is a written record of these questions and answers, I would love to have them for my records.

Oh yeah, one more question for The Maglasa: Is JoeyA still his OFFICIAL "mini-tournament backer"? :D

Best Regards,
JoeyA

I admire Efren and Jose but I dont think Jose would ask an spot from Efren. They played many money games in PI and Jose always beat Efren..Ask Jay maybe he new old stories from old folks in manila..Thats his second Home..
