My friend is going to make a flash interview for a local internet site with Bata during coming World Championship. He tried to gather some questions from our pool fans but only got a few. So, if you had an opportunity to ask Efren one question, what would that be?

If we succeed with a chat I will translate most interesting replies so that you get your answers :)

eat what? Rice? Cats? Little children? ;) I hope to see some serious approach. Black-Balled, you are doing great in "Funny pic" thread.

I was serious. No one seems to look like their actually having fun playing in these tournaments... except Efren. I think that is a cool thing.

I'd like to know more about his home life...especially if he has any children/nieces/nephews coming into the game.

I'd like to know if he has any interests or hobbies outside of pool.

I'd also like to know how his health is holding up as he gets older.

I think he's referring to BB post.

Your question is actually a very good one. I know he gets serious and focused too when he's playing, but he does exude that vibe that he is enjoying what he's doing. Maybe that's why you won't see any bad body language/mannerism on him when he misses. Instead, he scratches his head and laughs at himself.

I know you said 1 question, but f**k it, I have a few.

1. Who do you feel was the best American player he ever faced or which American gave him the most difficult matches?

2. Going into the last day of The Color of Money match in Hong Kong against Strickland, he was down around 20 games (if memory serves me).
Why was he so confident he was still going to win that tournament?
Did he feel much better than he did the previous days or did he see something in Earl that led him to believe that Earl was going to self-destruct, or does he have that same confidence regardless of how many game he may be down?

3. Manny Pacquio (spelling?) has his own t.v. show in the Phillipines, where's the Efren Reyes show? There should be one!

4. Just a Thank You for giving the fans some of the most entertaining and fascinating pool that has ever been seen, and carrying himself with such integrity, class and humbleness (hoping that some current as well as up and coming players can learn from your playing but more importantly how you act as a true gentleman on and off the table).

What advice or suggestions can you give to those who are trying to develop their powers of concentration in pool besides, "play, play, play"? :D

Efren, is legendary for his longevity at the table and is seemingly unaffected by fatigue.

When you are playing pool for a long time, how do you combat fatigue that has already set in?

Mike,
I had a thread a long while back probably before September 2009 in which I asked a similar question to this forum's posters if you can find it.

Why do you always win big tournament with big paycheck?

How in the world do you handle pressure?

What do you think the best way to practice and improve would be?

"Efren, you're known as one of the most amazing and influential players of all time. But what top players influenced you when you first started getting better and better in your game?"

If I'm not mistaken, that'd be Mike Sigel.

That would be I'll guess Jose Parica!

I'd ask Efren for an answer to the question that has plagued mankind for thousands of years. "How do you get snot out of corduroy?"
C'mon. He's the 'Magician' for crissakes. :)
