"Ask Efren": your single question to the Magician

When you first started out did you imagine you would be in the position you are today as one of most highly, if not the most highly, regarded pool player of all time??

How does it feel to win just about everything there is to win?

If I drink San Miguel will it really make me play like you?? haha...okay, that one is a joke.

Sarah

Mr. Reyes

Stroke routine:
You consistently take six practice strokes. The first 3 appear to be for fluidity (cue action not straight), whereas the last three appear straight as an arrow.

What feeling/sensation are you looking for in each set of strokes?
How did you develope this routine (i.e. watching others or self-discovery)?

Thanks,

Jay P.

How often do you intentionally get out of position to make your runout look that much stronger lol?

i know efren plays some sporty 3 cushion and reportedly has also played some good snooker. i'd like to hear his opinion on the differences between the games

Have you ever used anything (books, ideas, etc.) to help you in the mental aspects of playing pool and competing?

Do you have a time set in your mind when you will quit competing at pool, or will you just play as long as you feel competitive?

refinement of question since mine is similar...

Additionally, during each practice stroke of the six, what are your eyes focused on, and are some of the practice strokes focused on tuning certain hand or arm muscles? does any of it have to do with adjusting grip?
great question, I really hope this one makes it because I have the same practice stroke routine... several instructors have tried to get me to do others that seemed VERY un-natural. Whatever you do, please get Efren to answer this one in DETAIL. And THANKS in advance....

I am not efren but i'll try to answer that question for him

as far as i know, he didn't read any books. Seems like he is the type of person who doesn't like to read books. He reads newspapers and horse race charts..

He will not quit...why does he need to when this is the only time when other players are competing level against him? not because other players are getting better..but because efren's game declined a few notch from his best game.

I believe no one will play better than efren during the times of his A game. Believe it or not, when it was his best..that was in his 20's he gave amang parica +15 in rotation games and amang can't beat him.

My own question..... are you coming?

Mr. Reyes, did you make your plans to come to my Fourth of July party on Grand Lake in Oklahoma? If you didn't, remember that I have a HUGE fireworks show right at the end of my block with margaritas. You didn't get my invitation? I didn't know where to send it, so consider this your invite. Yes, I have a billiard museum at home. And yes, I do have a ten footer we can match up on.

Hey Efren, could you beat up Pacquiao with your cue stick?
