No, Steve Rhodes is the owner and that is Smokehouse Billiards. Ewa owns the APA franchise from Surfside Beach up to Wilmington, NC. She ran 85% of all her tournaments, expositions and charity events there. Smokehouse was the only poolhall around with in an hours drive before Shore Thing opened. There is a poolhall called Corner Pocket in Myrtle Beach but, no one goes there. Don't wanna say why but, NO ONE GOES THERE, lol.

I am here at Shore Thing
COME ON DOWN IF YOU CAN
Ask for Petey they will point me out

Hell Petey I was there when you posted this according to the time stamp, hate I missed ya.
Then again, if you played some scotch with a couple of goobers for 5 a head, we may have met lol. I didn't catch any names, but we got lit up quick. My bud was the guy pounding out the pushups for Ernesto (sp?) and he was also the guy going to task with him over a trick shot.
We had a blast overall.

good to hear youre having a good time art
now get to the beach
get some babe pictures for the other place ;)

haha yeah go to shore thing billiards if you wanna pay a table minimum wage.

Hello Billyonair. I was not aware that $5 an hour to play on a brand new Diamond table was that much. If your job is paying you a minimum wage of $5 an hour, you might wanna look into a new job. If that is to much, we have some coupons for you. Plus, Sunday is local appreciation day and is half off all day long. I have been on this beach as long as you have been alive and I promise you no pool hall around has better tables and atmosphere and haven't since Players was around and one other one off of 501 and 17. I DO NOT WORK HERE. I am a serious pool player that was tired of the other bad conditions or bad atmosphere in the other places. Brent left the other pool bar because they weren't supporting the pool players so, Brent opened his own place by players for the players and I was a part of that. He will keep the tables in perfect order year round. Smokehouse charges $4 an hour on old cloth but they're still fast, Break Room was $7 per table, not player and had very slow cloth for a 9fter(I'm not a banger). If you have an issue with the owner or the establishment, come in and talk to me or Brent. We need all the poolhalls in Myrtle Beach to stay open and support pool period. Support Break Room in Conway if you like but, don't knock our place. Thank you, Ron

Brent Hudgins Shore Thing Billiards

The place to go is Break Room billiards, very nice kept 9 foot tables, and its only 5 or 6 bucks an hour per table not person.

Well Billy all I have to say is keep coming back in and your question will be answered automatically. This was my life long dream and I finally made it happen and my room I designed for pool lovers and enthusiasts, will always remain clean, and cold. We clean the tables every night, and I purchased a double ball polisher from Diamond so they get polished 3 times a week or more if needed! To say the least when you are racking the balls before you break you will see your reflection! Also, we do .50 cent happy hour everyday on the 7' tables, and Sundays it is always .50 cent pool from open to close. Our 9' is $5.00 a hour, feel free to come up and talk with me in person and shoot on it with me for a couple of hours my treat. I look forward to seeing you in the near future. Tell your dad Larry hope to see him soon also...

I honestly wasn't trying to knock Sure Thing Billiards by saying that 5 dollars is really close to 7.25. You get two people on the table it becomes 10 dollars, then if u get three it becomes 15. and each person is getting less and less out of the deal because more people means less actual play time. Only one person can shoot at a time. You should get little timer clocks like in chess that each person at the table can punch in and out of that would be great.

Oh wow, I didn't know it was $ 5.00 each person. So, its $ 15.00 an hour if
3 people play at the same time? I'll still have to check it out, but we might
be playing on the bar box for a buck a game.

Billyonair I don't know how anyone could knock Shorething Billiards, I made it down there Friday evening and had a great time. The Diamond tables play great and the crowd was large and the owners Brent and Ann were very friendly, it made me want to stay there every night. But the three kids with me and there momma's wanted there driver to hit the other (lesser) attractions in Myrtle Beach all day every day. We had a ball and I'm looking forward to going back in September for a few days of swimming pool and a few nights of shooting pool.--Leonard

Thanks for the good words. :D I'm so sorry I didn't get to meet you. Brent called me and I told him I would be there in 15 mins. but his phone was messed up. I tried calling him back 3 times. I did get there in less than 15 mins. and I just missed you Brent said. I couldn't get out of work Saturday. Sorry. I will meet up with you in Sept. when our season dies down and so does work. Glad you and your family had a fun and safe time at the beach. See ya in Sept.

my opinion

I would like to voice my opinion after reading all these comments. STB is hands down the best. I have been to the rest. I have played some of my best pool here, I love the tables. The owners and staff are always friendly. The have regular tournaments, well run, etc. I have seen them cleaning the balls....The food is good....I dont know what more can be said. It's worth the cost. thanks

Events

Oh, forgot one big thing...they also have had 2 big special events already, and 1 coming up this saturday aug. 27. (Kid Delicious will be there). The GSBT is making a stop there next month also. Thanks again.

GSBT tourney / Hotel info.

We have had several calls about where to stay this weekend. There will be several nice hotels available at the beach. After Labor Day, the beach is considered to be in the "off" season. This is a deal we found on the internet and I am sure there are more if you just go and look. This is located close to the pool room and is oceanfront so that is why we chose this one. Just remember that the pool room is located in the shopping center next to Biminis at the very end of Ocean Blvd. on the north end. The very last hotel is Sands Ocean Beach Club where Ocean Annie's is, we checked there and they don't have many openings and are quite a bit more expensive.

Check it out, they have a deal, buy 2 nights and get the 3rd FREE!! I am sure there are more hotels running that special, too!

See ya'll at the beach this weekend! Don't forget mini tournament will be Friday night, so show up early and get some practice in. They have been having good turn outs. Call Brent at the pool room for more details!
