ATROX cue tool, product review..(long)

I just got a PM nominating Danny Harriman. Who also has impressive stats. More and more Im thinking TEAM DIAMONDBACK. Three pros. Two guys and one girl. Lucasi did that years ago with Buddy Hall, Jim Rempe and one other pro that escapes my memory. It might work, with the proper marketing. Our marketing guru here is pretty sharp.

Stevie Moore (SM, Super Man), all around good guy.

Sounds intriguing. I'll look him up and his stats. Is he sponsored by any else that you know of?

I don't think Stevie Moore is currently sponsored by anyone but I know people who know Stevie personally and you may not EVER find anyone who would represent a business in a more professional way. All I ever hear is Stevie is what you see is what you get: CLEAN-CUT, hard-working, professional POOLPLAYER and all around personable, nice-guy.

...........................And I haven't even met the guy, although I was witness to his professional prowess on the field of green at this year's Derby City Classic. :-)

If you decide to offer Stevie Moore a sponsorship and can't reach him, let me know and I will get you a number.

You might consider the TWO-FANG (prong) approach to marketing and get one guy and one girl. Sarah Rousey is friendly, professional and sponsor-available, I think. BTW, your other products look pretty interesting and you should impact a wide range of billiard enthusiasts. Good luck.

Take a look at Anna Kostanian for sponsorship. 18 yr old, junior national champ, placed 17th in WPBA US Open, her first major pro tournament. Cute and sweet but tough as nails on the green. Definitely a future star! :p

Anna's stats are really good! Definitely a future WPBA star. She is young though. But imagine the buzz it would create having a young lady that's just entering the scene getting sponsorship and having her promoted in our ad campaign. It might even ignite a true killer stroke within. After all, she's from New Mexico. Many, many western diamondbacks out there. LOL

These are great suggestions guys.

The manufacturer also says it can be used as a “strike positioner” to let you get more height to your bridge for shooting over another ball, or for jump shots. Since it is only 1.5 X 2.5, some may find it a little small for that purpose, but I like the idea a whole lot better than the Finger Extenders idea that one of the pros we know has used in the past. A solid “B”.

Hmmm. This reminds me of those TV pitches for home exercise equipment depicting models performing some completely ineffective, exercise movements in order to add to the 'Feature List" for the product.

According to the latest online BCA General Rules. page 7:

SUPPLEMENTAL RULES
The following are rules that are referred to within the General Rules of Pocket Billiards above. For the complete World Standardized Rules, please consider Billiards: The Official Rules and Records Book, published by the Billiard Congress of America.

1.3 USE OF EQUIPMENT
Players may not use equipment or accessory items for purposes or in a manner other than those for which the items were intended (refer to rules 3.42 and 3.43). For example, powder containers, chalk cubes, etc., may not be used to prop up a mechanical bridge (or natural hand bridge); no more than two mechanical bridges may be used at one time, nor may they be used to support anything other than the cue shaft.

I'm not saying that the Atrox tool isn't a good, worthwhile gadget, but only that the manufacturer is stretching things a bit with this point.

Three votes for Stevie. Wow. There's a real fan base for him. One thing I want to make clear is that we want real die-hard fighters out there. No glamour pros with egos. We want to be in business with players that know how to treat people and fellow players with dignity and respect. Humble as a person but lethal on the table. There are pros out there with mega-company sponsorship that are really nice and respectable. But they are locked into contracts with companies that pay them for their face on TV. It's not always about a logo on a shirt on ESPN.

We are aware of that. But there are many leagues, APA for example that allow it. The new item out there True Stroke touts that its 100% legal. Maybe one could argue that since the ATROX TOOL is INTENDED as an elevation device as one of its features, it could be allowed. But its not a major concern. It was a feature that several players felt it could be included. It creates 5 to 7 inches on the back elevation when jacking up.
But the main features of the tool are what's popular. You will not be disappointed with it. So sure that we put a lifetime warranty on it.
Thank you so much for the info though. That should be understood that not all leagues will accept the Strike Positioner feature. It really helps on jump shots away from the rail when one must use their shooting cue to execute a jump shot. Like in the APA.

You raise an interesting point. I can't help but wonder if, since the manufacturer advertises this use for the Atrox tool, wouldn't propping your bridge hand with it be legal, since it is being used as intended?

What would Bob Jewett say?

Good Rolls,
Rasta

There are three things I have been planning on picking up at VF this year.
1. New Custom Cue
2. Blue Book
3. The Atrox tip tool.

hopefully someone will have them there.

2 other players

you might consider sponsoring would be:

1) Shane Van Boening
2) Jamie Baraks

We are getting multiple calls about the ATROX TOOL. Granted we can sell to you, but keep in mind there plenty dealers that have them that may be able to ship faster in shipping days turnaround. East coast from us is 1 to 2 days for UPS to deliver shipped from our location. Central U.S.A is 3 days. West of the rockies is 4 to 5 days.

Online dealers that have them and are selling them now are POOLDAWG.com and BILLIARDWAREHOUSE.com

Pooldawg is in Colorado and Billiardwarehouse is in NC. So keep that in mind for shipping turnaround. There are other online retailers that got them but have yet to put them on their sites.

Mr Collier I live in the uk and was wondering if I could buy this tool or is it exclusive to dealers and exclusive to customers in the u.s.

Yes. You can have it. We'll sell anywhere in the world except Indonesia and middle east.

We already sent one to a man in Rutland UK. It goes US MAIL though.

You may order online. Killerstroke.com - Ignore the shipping cost. We will email you the correct amount before your card is charged. It's yours.

Thanks, David

Any other info on these two? Acheivments?

Stevie Moore is leading the pack here in AZ. Im getting positive response inside here at DIAMONDBACK about possibly Anna that was suggested earlier. Does anyone in here know these people? How are they as a person? I practically can build a perfect resume so far with Stevie Moore based on what info I got so far. We are very serious about listening to the players here in AZ about recommendations. So who we choose will be someone that was suggested here. You see, our philosophy is this: not a single billiard company, league, dealer, manufacturer would exist if it wasn't for the players. Players who love this sport. So listening to them is key to any company's success which in turn promotes and helps the sport grow.

You just described Stevie to a "T"
Whether or not you decide to make him an offer, you most definitely should meet with him. Once you do, you will understand why he is so popular.

Interesting you mention "Humble" Danny has a line of shirts he is starting to promote called "Humblin USA The New Attitude of Cue Sports".

Well, we have Stevie Moore leading the pack. Sarah , Anna and Danny Harriman. Its looking like moore and moore (pun intended) that we may need to get Stevie's number. But we may go with two or three total sponsorships. We definitely would like a female. My analogy in our approach in sponsorships is a Seabiscuit approach. Going for someone who many would count out of the race just by their ranking or how popular they are. Someone we can say that we are proud to sponsor no matter how many times they have won or lost. Someone who would be considered a long shot but can run with the best of them. Someone with heart. Someone who will go toe to toe with an Efren Reyes or an Allyson Fisher, and just when you think they are done, our player would look dead in the eye of their opponent, feel that surge of power, and that voice from within them would say "there it is, turn it loose." And our player begins to run and run and run those racks leaving the opponent sitting in that spectator chair, split the pocket with the 9 ball for the win.

As far as the ladies go, Sarah and Anna would both be good choices. Sarah is more likely, at least in the near future, to get some tv time as she is a regular touring pro on the WPBA.
