Attention Female Players!

Well so far, we have 20 exempt players...and about 5 or 6 more non-exempt players (players that finished just out of the top 40 last year, or who have competed in WPBA events previously). I'd say that about 1/2 the field will be WPBA regulars.

There are many players who aren't able to travel cross country for a weekend event...and normally I would include myself among them. However, this being the inaugural event of the Satellite Tour, I wasn't going to miss the opportunity to show my support, both for the WPBA and for Janet Atwell and Borderline Billiards. Should be a terrific weekend...and I'm excited about playing some back-to-back-to-back matches...crammed into a weekend...old-school style :D
 
I think as players see more of these type tournaments put on by the WPBA we will see some good players that very rarely play on regionals come out of the woodwork. Who knows, maybe a few that have been playing under the radar will shock us all. Johnnyt
 
Are we close to 64 players yet? I should have said it would fill up by the weekend. Everybody thinks they play 2 balls better on the week end after a drink or two in them:). Johnnyt

LOL Johnny - heck I was a champion in my own mind after that ;) Now, the best I can do is run out.. of gas if I don't pay attention.

We've got 12 spots left as of this morning. :D

I'm getting excited! The fact that this pays to 50% of the field makes it VERY reasonable.

Any Texas ladies that want to go PM me...we have some very reasonable lodging options and lots of girls traveling together. It will be a fun weekend!
 
See Melissa, and you were worried that the WPBA wouldn't be able to fill out a full 64 player bracket. I'm telling you, 128 players, good payouts, easy to reach location (instead of one of the out of the way casinos) and you'll be good to go. Gold I tells ya! Gold!
 
I really hope this goes over big and gets somemore good sponsorship. It will help the pro out and let the amatuers that want to see how they match up against the best, or simply want to see what it feels like playing a pro have their 2 days of it..

Don't forget, unlike the regionals where you might have a max of 4 top 30 pros playing against 25 amatuers, here there will be about 12 or more top 30 with some bottom 30 thrown in. Some top pros will get knocked out by other top pros. Some bottom 30 will have a great match against a top pro that's having an off day. So with 50% of players paid, everyone has a chance to cash. Win, win for all involved. Johnnyt

I am sick! sick! and sick that I can't attend this event !!! Girls, you know I would had been the first in line, but, I will be in the middle of moving across country during the tourney time:(

Hope for a GREAT success because I think this is innovating and brilliant idea to promote woman's pool. I am sure from the result of this type of event more and more women players will be motivated to step up their game!

I know it did me when I watched you girls up close!

I hope there will be more of these events and you bet ya I will be applying for the next events :) :) :)

** Borderline Billiards (owned by Janet Atwell - WPBA Pro) is Immaculate!!!

Clean with open spaces and ceiling to boot! It's just - awesome! My short vocab does not do justice for describing her room. I just have to say, it's one of my all time favorite.
