Hmm, that is strange. Let me look.
My total posts went up when I just posted that test message. And my time is correct on my screen.
The time is correct for me, too. 
To get the correct time for your part of the country, go to USER CP on the button bar in the upper left-hand area of this page.
On the left-hand side, cilck on EDIT OPTIONS.
Scroll down to DATE AND TIME OPTIONS.
Select the correct TIME ZONE.
The posts do stay the same number for a short while, but do change periodically, just not immediately.
