Attorneys that play pool

CT attorney

We have a young fellow who frequents our poolroom in CT. He plays with a Southwest, drives a Porsche, wears a Rolex President, and is always accompanied by an attracive young woman (though rarely the same one twice).

I wondered aloud to my buddy, "what do you suppose he does for a living?"

"He's a personal injury lawyer", he replied.

"Honest?", i asked.

"Nope, he's the usual kind", he responded.

No offense intended to any of you who might also play with a Southwest.

No, this is not a "lawyer joke"... ;)
I'm just curious, are there any other attorneys that shoot a good game? I can't help but think we're a rare breed.

My fiancee's dad is an attorney and loves pool (although he's probably only about APA SL4 speed these days). Also there used to be an attorney on my APA team (SL5).

There is an attorney that plays in my local room.. plays 9-ball most of the time, if I had to guess, I'd say he's a strong SL7, maybe a decent SL8. with as little as he has time to play (he's incredibly busy.. we have alot of scum bags in the area:) I'm suprised he even knows how to hold a cue.

I was in a hurry when I made my comment
about Fl'S dog and didn't notice you were
Eric Yow. I'm embarrassed and very sorry.
Just trying to be funny. Again, I apologize.

Greetings to All:

I am a practicing attorney in Topeka, Kansas, specializing in business law. I very recently became an AZ'er, but have been perusing the forums for quite some time. This is my first post.

I grew up in Wichita, Kansas and began playing nine ball there in the late 1970's. I am friends with and played with the likes of Jr. Brown, Steve Rector Bob Owen and Terry Young, etc. I, too, hung out and sweated many, many games involving David Matlock, Buddy Hall, John Shuput and the Levett brothers at Burkes, Steakhouse, Mr. Lucky's, the Golden Cue and the Rack and Cue.

I still play in Topeka and elsewhere. My everyday playing cue is a 1980 Scruggs 4 point, 4 veneer, ss joint cue that still hits a "ton"! I flipped a coin back then between having Tim make me a cue as opposed to Gus Szambotti!

In any event, I just wanted to introduce myself to the forum. While a still play whenever I can, my time is divided between riding my various Harley's , scuba diving and playing golf! I look forward to posting more in the future!

I'm an attorney and have been playing pool somewhat regularly for the last 4 years after not playing very much the last 40. I'm in a couple of straight pool leagues and my high run is 46.

My brother is an attorney and plays a bit better. I believe his high run is 56.

Lawyer, yes. Good game? Dunno about that. More lawyers around here than I thought.

Back in So Cal in the 70's , there was an attorney that I used to play 3 cushion ... he was good enough to play and win against most all the local guys around LA except Gilbert and Bill Hynes. Played pretty good one pocket also...but I can not remember his name. He lived around Long Beach.

Was it Jerry Karsh? I think he was a lawyer. Saw him play some in Denver, but didn't really know him.
