Hello Ian, I would also post the letter of Authenticity. Real nice looking cue,

I have a G.Szam with origonal and Ernie shafts and they play the same, he duplicated them perfectly. I have nothing to do with this cue on this thread I was just commenting on the quality of his shafts as far as playing goes.

Added picture of Tascarella letter in original post and also adding it here with a close up.

The letter was done on Sept. 21, 2006 and states....

"After making an in-depth inspection, the cue described below is determined to be an original George Balabushka cue that was built in the late 1950's or early 1960's."

It goes on to mention:
"...this trim design that George Balabushka used early in his years, and is quite rare."

"...forearm is straight maple (Willie Hoppe Blank)"

"...cue is sound and straight, and in excellent condition."

Hope this answers most of the questions I have been getting. This is a great cue and a very, very fair price. I have been told it is a $10,000 cue. Cue is in MINT condition.

Thanks,
Ian

Thanks for the update Ian, like I said before that is really a great cue!!!!!

Hey this is a great cue. Hoppe style Bushkas are very hard to come by.. factor in the ebony titlist, the joint rings, its a keeper.

The "ringwork" above and below the wrap is really under the wrap. Joe,can you comment on the work?

The rings on the wrap are a Ginacue trademark. The rings I am talking about are the phenolic rings at the joint. Very hard to find on a Bushka, and right for the period the cue was made.

That is a nice cue, But with a shiny finish it just seems weird for a bushka. kinda seems fake looking. I dont mean to kick you'r dog, but what was ernie thinking spraying a modern finish on a real Balabushka?
I would call that a re-finish, not realy a restoration.

Thanks for the kind words on the cue and the one "dog kicking", all PM's have been replied to and hopefully the cue will have another good home soon.

Thanks again
