First impression playing with the Autumn.
The cue is truly amazing, everything flows evenly. I can't wait to see the big one.
Thanks! Mean either

, I haven´t got the design in my head yet. The wood looks amazing however but I will wait until it gets to Rick and we can talk it over, better pics etc. Have numerous ideas in my head but the design starts when I get to see the wood more closely. Rick however want´s to be pushed to his limits so I will see what I can do about it. I think we will do a real nice MW also. Simple can be great

.
A short review after some play yesterday:
First - I´m pretty well trained to test out cues and since this was going to be a player for me it has my specs, Rick´s own specs in his cues was already very close so it wasn´t a biggie, I just changed the tip to 12.75 and a 1/2 ferrule to make the deflection were I want it, use to.
So with that said I felt it was going to be a good player of course, my expectations was there. However I can set that aside when testing cues.
The cue did meet my expectations of a cue that fits me, I "found" it right away, it was very easy to judge the deflection, get used to the overall balance, weight, feeling of the shaft when stroking etc.
The cue plays very strong, very consistent, ld - but not "extreme" (don´t like that at all) - this is something I can write a lot of, but for now I can say - please folks, LD is not a quality thing, it can be just as bad as HD - think about swerve, throw, parallel aim - pivot aim etc, if you know what to look for you can use it good - go with the flow sort of imo.
Deflections is a fact, go with it, I like to use deflection, swerve when shooting shots and a solid shaft (I have tried several) with a shorter ferrule provides me with a great feedback (solid feel), a deflection that is very easy to adjust to - you can aim inside a part of the pocket, never have to aim outside the pocket (I´m not talking about 3 tips of english now), if you want a bit of a more swerve you just raise the butt a tiny bit and you have it.
A "strong" taper also does that, it behaves the same on different stroke speeds, same deflection (not talking about swerve, throw here), a weak shaft can shoot low in low speeds but can squirt big time in faster speeds imo.
The quality of the Autumn is great, the finish is absolutely perfect, seen as good but never better. For a untrained eye it seems perfect, for a pool nerd, well it´s handmade and you can find something if you look very close. Can Rick get better, of course we all can but he is already way up there in most departments.
I´m actually feeling a bit sorry for him because I know how much time he put on the bumper part - the rosewood, finishing it etc and when it arrived the finish hadn´t cured enough so you could see "grains" from the packing - no biggie though but Rick sanded and put more finish, sanded etc several times to make it real shiny, - and it was.
So as you might guess I´m more than happy with the Autumn, the quality, the playability and Rick´s and mine cooperation in work etc makes this cue something real special. I can highly recommend his cues

! If you like whippy cues though it´s not for you.
Well I guess I covered most, if you have any questions feel free to ask and I will do my best to answer them.
Btw - a cue suited for you and If you know what to look for in playability will make you a ball better imo. To have a cue that can take "any" shot is a really good cue imo. Some cues you have to adjust to, some cues adjusts to you, Rick´s cues does the later
