Tips, ferrules, and linen wrap. how long would these jobs take for an average cuemaker ?
 
Same day for all three, or by the next day. Of course it will depend on how much other repair work is ahead of your job.

From delivery of cue to machinest to delivery of cue back to owner (assuming machinest has nothing else to do)::

Tips: 20-30 minutes

Ferrule: 1-2 hours

Linen: 45-60 minutes (may be long)
 
a day max.....however i have been waiting over 2 years to have a cue refinished:angry: so it all depends on the cue maker.....
 
It's not a race. It depends on the quality of work you want.
A tip, 5-10 mins.
Linen wrap, about 1/2 hr.
The ferrule, well here is where the difference is.
Some use CA so that's very quick.
Some use 5 min epoxy which actually has a full-cure in 1 hr.
I use slow-cure epoxy for almost everything. 8 hrs minimum. Preferably 24 hrs.
So it's really up to you. You want it done quick, it can be done.
You want it done the best it can be, I'll have it overnight.

not how long, but

i have people that come into my jewelry store and ask how long it takes to size a ring. answer average time 1/2 hr.
the question should be, when am i going to have a 1/2 hr to do their ring ?

Me too, and nothing I have ever glued has come loose nor fallen off. I could probably get more tip jobs but I always tell 'em if I take it home on Monday night, earliest you can get it back is Wednesday morning. Not that I want the work because I just do it as a hobby and I only charge them for the cost of the tip and a Crown & Coke :grin:.

I'll go along with what KJ has to offer.
I used to do tips in 10 minutes, or so. Wraps were 20 minutes to to an hour, depending on how stubborn the old wrap was. Ferrules were an hour, there or there abouts.
The only thing I did in front of the customer was a tip. Everthing else was next day, or longer. :smile:
