Awesome shot by Fedor

what camera is he using? awesome video quality
I’ll try to find out this coming week when he’s in Austin for the Texas Classic. Both the iPhone and newer GoPros can shoot 4K/60fps video of that quality - that particular video is only 760p/60 (more streaming-friendly).

I was watching the one pocket match between Shane and Fedor . Fedor hit an amazing bank shot, definitely a two way if he didn’t make the bank. Figured others that didn’t watch the match might enjoy seeing the shot with position.

If the link doesn’t take you to the moment I hope it does, the shot is at 10:02 into the match
High level shot there. Very few players would see it, let alone shoot it.

Talked to Fedor today about his setup. He said he normally uses a Sony Alpha A6400 camera with a LiveU box for streaming, and sometimes he uses his iPhone. He’s using the main kit this weekend.

Hoping to see him against SVB in the final. Both of them are making the head ball in the side 90+% of their breaks with Matchroom rules. But keeping an eye on Vitaliy Patsura, a 26-yr-old Ukrainian who is a very solid 780, and Roland Garcia (810).

Vitaliy Patsura just won the Texas 9-Ball Classic, sending both Fedor and Shane to the loser's bracket (7-2 and 7-4, respectively) to get to the hotseat, then withstanding a double-dip attempt by Shane which went to the second game hill-hill. Great tournament, congrats to the red-hot Ukranian kid! His 780 FR should be a little higher after this week.

He made a nice shot, I don't happen to think it was the correct shot, but it went in, that's all that matters on any given shot. Looks like if he missed it , he was going to be in a bad situation and at that speed , that shot isn't a gimme for anybody on the planet that I have ever seen.

maybe respect to not break his concentration ?
i must be jaded because for sure well executed but the bank really wasnt that difficult (for those guys)and the area for position was large and natural...common type shot in onepocket

Tangent line and speed, the two things I tell people to focus on, other than a straight stroke.

what was so awesome about that

I'm not surprised by Fedor's power stroke. Pyramid and all. One of those pyramid videos states in no uncertain terms that most angles require stuffing the ball through the jaws hence the battering ram pocket speed. Banking to a pool pocket must be a cinch. He was probably laying just right on that shot.
