John, you have the sharpest sword of all.

Trust me, just about all keyboard warriors become docile as lambs in person and laugh about it. Then the next week they are back at each other's throats.

It's really funny some of the things I have seen along these lines in the past 16 years or so. Almost to a man all the people with whom I have had online conflict with have never been aggressive in person.

Some people you have a beer with and smoke the peace pipe in person and then the next week they are attacking you again. Real love/hate passive/aggressive type stuff. But it seems to be something to do with emotions+distance=flaming.........but in person, perfectly normal decent and fun guys to be around for the most part. Leave it for future anthropologists to figure out.

Although it would be fun to settle some beefs with FUN grudge matches on the pool table with silly bets that the loser has to do on camera.

And also to tackle some of the most contentious topics in person and ON THE TABLE on camera. That would be cool.
John, you have the sharpest sword of all the keyboard worriers. Are you one of those lambs. Just kidding, I'm one of you biggest fans. On a side note I've had my case for three weeks now and it's all i expected and more. You do incredible work thanks for everything.

Let me know if you want help with this. There's a few places that'd probably be good.

Red Shoes
Pyramid Club
Shark City

Mike

I would assist too in any way I can.

Pyramid is a good place, decent food, plenty of tables and room to hubbub around. Even a couple bar boxes...

Let me know what I can do.

I know Chicago RJ would be in as well,

Kevin

Please keep me on the list for a Chicago-area get-together, although most of the good spots are quite a hike from the NW suburbs. Depending on the day and time, I might be able to make it.

Although I promise I won't be able to give you a good game...I'm a beginner and the few times I've run a full rack have nearly been declared national holidays or miracles from the Big Guy.

Friends first

You my friend are in the Loop. Don't worry about skill level. Just come out and have a good time. Who knows maybe you'll pick up a thing our two.

Were you at Peabodys last night, watching over my shoulder??? From time to time I may be spotted playing virtual pool, while on break :)
I just had a vision....

..a bunch of AZers in the same room not talking to each other or making

eye contact.

..we're all on our laptops and I phones and Androids 'n' such typing furiously.

Then it goes all to hell...

...someone throws their laptop at a wall

....someone stomps on their Iphone

As John Barton said, the RSB forum had several get togethers across the country including Chicago, NY, CT, FL. The CCBoard still have an annual get together at US Open. The JimBoArmy gets together at the Super Billiards Expo. I suppose onepocket.org's annual is the Derby City Classic.

We got together at Chris' Billiards.
what's the rsb forum?

JuicyGirl...It stands for rec.sport.billiards, and was one of the first pool forums. It was unmoderated and some posters (especially folks like Fast Larry) came in and ruined it for a lot of others. There was also alt.sport.pool. Most of the original RSB posters migrated to the Billiards Digest forum (CCB...Cue Chalk Board), and then on over to here. Some of us still post on CCB and AzB.

Ahh! Thanks. Well its like 65 out today in Tampa. If this is warmer than where your at then I'd suggest you head down to Florida instead:D I'll be glad to make arrangements for us locals and any visitors

That would be awesome.

Mark's US Opens are easier for me than the Derby. That and the VNEA championships. The RSB gatherings were always a good time, plenty of laughs, pool, and maybe a beer or two.

Loren...You could easily do something in the TB area. There are at least DOZENS of AzBr's in your area.:D

It's 30 and snowing here in MI. I'd rather be down your way...but I'll have to wait until April! :frown:

If I were not a man of peace then I would be in prison by now due to some of the online conflicts I have been in.

Thanks for the compliments on the case. I am glad that for those at least my online words match the real world expectarions.

We do have one every year. It's called Derby City!

I was going to go to the DCC this year. Found a $150 round-trip ticket, $100 for the VIP 3-day pass, and a few hundred for the hotel.

Then my girlfriend said she wanted an iPad for Christmas.

You got me...
but I'll leave my post::grin:

wow! Is that a greyhound bus ticket or an airline flight?

What do you Chicago AZers think, Chris's or Red Shoes. Maybe alternate months if it goes good. Nothing serious just hang out for a couple of hours and bang em around.

I'd vote red shoes or pro-thyme billiards in orlando park. I just need some advance because I really have to plan things with 3 kids.
