AZB get together

I'm in central Indiana but will gladly make the trip. Put me down and let me know when. I'm guessing a mini swap meet too. Terry Aeschliman

2 more friend are on board.

That puts at 20.. Going to contact John at Red Shoes to see what are good dates for him and then see what dates work for us. swap meet is a very good idea.

My vote would be for Pyramid Club in Addison, gotta support where you play. 16 9-footers and 2 bar boxes. There is plenty of parking and great food.

gotta agree with John on this one... Pyramid is pretty centrally located, and if we are gonna have 20 plus players, they have a huge private dining area that we can all sit and put our stuff, and hang out when we are not shooting, and thus nothing has legs and walks out of there !!!

Plus, when there are NO leagues, the tables are not used much, thus, if we do this on a Saturday or Sunday, we would have pretty much have all the tables to ourselves.....and have a little tourney :)

Just something to consider that some folks may not know. But I'm just as close to Red Shoes or Chris too......

If this was a few guys or 5 or 6 then Red Shoes would be the obvious choice, buy Pyramid is three times bigger than Red Shoes, and not nearly as crowded......and we'd have the run of the land... We have 85 folks that play there in the Thursday league, with a ton a room to spare :)

so, no matter where, I'm in. But if Pyramid, I'll see what "freebies" that can throw in to sweeten the pot a little :)

If we get more than twenty e may be forced to go north. I'll let you know. Thanks for your input

Holidays are over

Now back to the planning. Still looking for your vote for location. Red Shoes is the front runner. We are shooting for first our second Saturday in .

we've been talking about putting together a 'billiard collector' type show/swap meet for a while now. maybe we should do it all together?
just a thought.
have a great day.

sounds good to me

Just have to make sure it's ok with john at red shoes

The next TAP nationals will be in Chicago. Hold an az convention at that time. My team is still in the running to get there.
One year I wore a tag identifying myself as a member of az while at the super billiards expo. Only a few people knew what az billiards was. I was disappointed. I had hoped to me some fellow members.
I az members room at the convention would be nice. Maybe a party there. Everyone could chip in a few dollars.

I would look forward to and help plan one in Myrtle Beach

I think that it would be so much more successful in a location where people wanted to go ...besides just pool..make a vacation out of it instead of depending on only locals. I'd suggest Myrtle Beach...spirit airlines fly's there cheap from the entire east coast. Chicago included.

Shore thing Billiards is a bad to the bone old school pool hall...small town, they would probably consider closing the hall to the public for the event-great people. Great place.

Hotels on the ocean are CHEAPER THAN DIRT this time of year. We would have 10 times the turnout...y'all keep the Chicago thing, but consider it at least for future.

I'd suggest Jan, Feb for the event due to hotel pricing and the obvious benefit to snowbirds...

a "special" VIP room for a few "AZers"

I just had a vision....
..a bunch of AZers in the same room not talking to each other or making
eye contact.
..we're all on our laptops and I phones and Androids 'n' such typing furiously.

Then it goes all to hell...
...someone throws their laptop at a wall
....someone stomps on their Iphone

I think we need a "special" VIP room for a few "AZers" with padded walls and mirrors.....lots and lots of mirrors:smile2: and one big pendulum and two way mirrors so we can see in, but can choose not to enter:thumbup:

As I mentioned in my o.p I often seen AZers with Chicago as there location and I always wanted to invite them to go hit some balls. After talking to a few guys here in the area, we want to get together on a Saturday and hit some balls and a slice of deep dish and of course some sudds. Nothing more and nothing less. Maybe some type of swap meet, tournament and basically just get to know each other and put a face to the name. I'm only expecting 15-20 people. If more show up that would be great. Some guys have expressed interest in coming up from Indianapolis. Once again every one is invited but we are not trying to make a national event but at most a Tri-State thing. But everyone is invited. Our main objective was to just hit some ball with some new old friends. ALL FEED BACK IS WELCOME. Now I have to go take my frustration out on my new break stick. The Bulls got drilled by Phoenix in Chicago.

J-Flo...Worse than that...Denver got beat by Baltimore in double overtime! Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!  :grin-square: Good luck with your get together. I'll show if I'm in the area (in town this weekend).

Memphis might be the most central city for a yearly convention.....

The Southern Classic has tons of tables and events and is in June this year so there is plenty of time to make arrangements with Diamond and the casino... Would be cool to add an AZ presence to what they already have in place....

Just my .02

Chris

Getogether.......

I'm happy to go to Red Shoes or The Pyramid. Hell I'd even go to Chris's, then I could play some 3 cushion...

Im picking....

Im picking the 9th cause it doesn't get in the way of Valentines day. The 23 is too far away. Vote for what is best for you. We will go the majority.

Please only vote if you plan on attending.

My Bears are hibernating:mad:. At least they got rid of Lovie.

Can you imagine what Ditka thought about having someone named Lovie coaching Da Bears? One thing is for sure when Ditka was on the side lines and you blew a play you were gonna get some love Ditka style when you trotted off the field. I voted for the 9th as well...
