It has its honest farmer types, its chickens, pigs, cows and bull $hitters

AZ Billiards is like a house full of beautiful women….

We have our pokers, chokers, strokers, cokers and pot smokers

Despite the efforts of its parents, (moderators) it can still be highly dysfunctional.

We’re all unique and come in all different shapes, sizes and colors, such as yellow for example.

On some threads we are together, and on others, we’ve become completely dis-jointed.

AZ Billiards is like a fictional Hollywood….
Although we have a few real legends, many of our legends, are legends in their own minds.

AZ billiards is like: A big watering hole...eventually all the animals will visit. Some live near bye and drink often, some wander in from afar, some sip gently from the edges, some crash in deep and muddy the waters, and all the while some sit on the hill and pass judgement. Some waterholes dry up and some don't....:)

Not meaning to divert the thread, but to expand upon it. * Basically because I can't think of anything funny to add :p *, but I think its a good opportunity for some of us to express our thoughts about what AZ means to us.

I was told by one guy, somewhat to my astonishment that all posters here are a bunch of losers. I'm sure a lot of casual readers suspect that many of us are somewhat obsessive or socially inadequate.

But hey, different strokes for different folks. We each have different subjects we like to discuss. In many areas the member's passions or interests overlap.

To me it's a place to share ideas with like minded folk, whom I don't get to meet too often in the real world. A place to put out ideas and in the process refine them. A place to get feedback to help me improve my ideas. And a place to sometimes simply shoot the breeze with some characters I've gotten to know.

Like any social situation, it has its drawbacks, but the positives of having an active forum like AZ available to us, far outweigh the negatives.

I hardly know Mike, but I'm very grateful for the service he has been able to provide, which costs us nothing but a little effort to enjoy.

Colin, I agree with your sentiments in this post, and would add that the cost, in my mind, is in giving back; helping the new folks, adding only when it is beneficial, and trying to help curb the negativity when possible. The effort is the cost.
 
AzBilliards is like a game of pool. Each break of the new day, I am faced with a new layout. Some days, I can hit 'em with authority, but there are other days when I find myself playing safe. I hope I never get called out on the three-foul rule. :p

Az billiards to me,
I for one find it amazing, the diversity of this board or members. Sure we have our troublemakers and trolls and nitpickers. That being said, I'm often times blown away by the knowledge of some our MEMBERS. My feeling is, that their are many very knowledgeable players, instructors etc. etc.
Look at all the cuemakers + repair people that participate. It's not only just about playing pool.

Some members are highly intellectual IMHO, some members have the gift to gab. Some are hilarious. Some are very philosophical or wise, others are very computer savvy. Photograghers and wannabe poets, theorists, politicians all can express their views and analysis for us to decipher. It's not just about pool and only pool and that's a good thing. For those of us that have been here awhile, we are a little tired of:
What's the best tip,
Who's the best player,
What's the best cue,
Opinions are like -----------

This forum is great for information for what's going on in the whole pool world. For those of us that don't live in America, it keeps us upto date what has transpired on the tournament trail. The up and coming players, the gossip, winners and losers. The railbirds also bring their insite to matches that are priceless.

Look at all the old road warriors, hustlers and stakehorses that share their stories for us to enjoy. On a sad note, quite a few members have died and I for one was grateful, that they were apart of our family until the end!!!

For those of us that are involved in the billiard industry, it's a great informational tool for new products hitting the market and feedback from the playing public!

Next topic. People have been banned, that I personally liked and didn't necessarily agree with the decision that was made, BUT it's not my website. Period. The moderators,imho, have also learned too!
