AZ... I Need your very valuable opinion !!!

So .. Im very torn between 2 cues in the for sale section right now. Tank is selling a Carmeli Sneaky and 1pocket Roscoe is selling a Varney Hustler. I think they are pretty comparible. Currently I own a Carmeli Tru-Balance Conversion which plays LIGHTS OUT !!!! I will also have a souped up Varney Bacote Sneaky on the way which I should get sometime after the beggining of next year.
Now I really want both cues and but can only choose one for now. I need your help. This has no reflection on the sellers. Im just asking what AZ thinks. If I buy one and the other is still for sale in a week or two I'll buy the other, But for now I can only choose one and dont know which To commit to.

For what it's worth, I'd go with the Varney. If I didn't already have one on order, I'd pick it up.

I like the clean simple style and figure of the rosewood on the Varney. I don't care for the uneven points and the handle on the Carmeli (just not my style).

I agree totally.

Varney looks pretty, Carmeli looks business. Guess if I wanted more of a sneaky, I would guess the Carmel. If I wanted a looker, I would get the Varney.

I think the varney looks a little classier and would probably resell better. I would guess they are both good players.

Would you rather have an mediocre looking (why are the points s000000000 uneven) SP with 2 shafts or a pretty SP with 1 shaft if/when the music stops?

Are you a player or do you enjoy showing and comparing cues?

Once you honestly answer those questions the decision will be easy.

I would send Roscoe my money an try the Varney. If its not you you can always sell it an retrieve your funds an try something else not that many used Varneys out there an plus the radial pin. On the other hand if you don't chose pretty soon probably neither will be available. Just one mans opinion an nobody has ever accused me of being smart.

All things being equal the shorter (57 1/2") cue will play a teeeeench stiffer.

As both "THE COATS" and "Mr. P" said the KV should be easier to flip.....

To be perfectly honest, both cues look damn good to me. But the proof is in the pudding. I always like to see how a cue feels and plays before buying it. There is nothing like hitting balls to see how you like a cue. That cannot be conveyed in a photo. Otherwise you are just guessing as far as I'm concerned.

Maybe if both these cuemakers know you, they will send you the cues to try out, and you can pick the one you like best.

I wish it worked out that way. I would definitley put deposits down to do something like that, But unfortunately not everyone trust others that much. Much respect to those AZ members who can do that !!!!!!!
