AZ still running SLOW 30 sec. to 1min. change pages

i meant to post earlier:

i think it's a VIRUS....

my laptop, cell, and ipad have never run slower than in the past month. it's extended itself from 4am-6am, to 4am-NOW.

i don't keep AZB up when i switch to email, for fear of viruses. i logout & clear all cookies, then switch. i'm stuck. i have NEVER had to REBOOT so often.

Am I the only one still having trouble. It cleared up last week and worked good for 2 days. Then went back to turtle speed. Been this way another 5 days now. I go to any other site and bingo, working great, no problems. Just AZ. I am on Windows, Vista:frown:

My computer is running fine when trying other websites or going to gmail. When trying to get on to AZ it's a whole different story. First try to
get on AZ 504 gateway time put, then once I got on 30 sec. to 1 min. to to get on user CP or just on a thread or even change pages in a thread.

Traffic must be down in the mornings, I could see why.
Just a heads up !

I've been getting all of that all week long, and mines fast everywhere else as well.

It's not on your end ..... this is brutal.

at least it is not "timing out" this week! so I guess you could call this some improvement over last week?

I live in FL, EST. it is so slow it is hard to use from 5:30 am to about 7. We have high speed ATT

It took me several attempts to post in this thread.

Yes, this forum runs slow every single morning for a few hours. I'm used to it. I just move to FB and hang out for a while and then come back if I want to read something on AzBilliards forum.

I have a fast computer, strong computer, 12GB RAM, i7 processor, and this forum sometimes feels like I have a gerbil-driven computer.

It isn't going to change. We've been complaining about it for a long while. Just don't read or post in the morning. Problem solved. :grin-square:

Let's see if this post goes through this time. I've saved it on a copy-and-paste, just in case I get another error message.

Only 35.7 seconds to load the previous page....

EDIT: Just when I wanted to run some more indepth speed analysis programs the site started
running smoothly again, not even 5 minutes after the 30-60 second load times.

exactly the same here -

I'm surprised the mods haven't responded to what obviously has become a chronic problem.

best,

I feel the pain, early morning, with coffee, is my best chance at az but this morning was nothing short of brutal! usually after 7 am it gets better, BUT NO, not this morning! actually here it is after 8 am and it is not up to speed yet! :sorry: we send satellites to the far reaches of the galaxy and we can't get decent speed out of az....china can hack into ALL fed employees including ALL military personal and for a year at that! ...maybe jerry should talk to one of those guys?...gezzzzzz

I both agree and disagree with the above...

I will never get used to slow bandwidth at 6:00am or 7:00am on the east coast, when that should be the fastest time of the day to be on AZB... fewer users because everyone west of me is still in bed. Most every other site out there zips at that time of the morning.

My computer is a water-cooled mega-monster with dual SLI-graphics, that can handle as much graphics streaming and multi-tasking that I can throw at it... Yet a simple single site called AZB turns it into a turtle in the morning. This has been going on for months and seems to be getting worse.

Respectfully... the answer is not as simple as go play somewhere else and come back later in the day. That is not "Problem Solved", but more Problem Ignored by AZB, as most people have work lives away from AZB and need to be scheduled with their time.

Last week I received (a welcomed) phone call from PINKLADY and during our conversation she mentioned that she hadn't seen me on AZB in a long time. Well, this is a big part of the reason why.
I used to find it very relaxing first thing in the morning to drink a cup of coffee or two while cruising the forums and keeping up with the latest news, rants and other info... and even occasionally a reply to a thread (or one of my own) here and there. I'd even shadow it in the background while I worked on other task, if there was some topic of discussion that held my interest... ect...

I've built and constructed many websites over the years (a few much larger than AZB) and I'm telling you that this bandwidth lag could be (and should have already have been corrected). The only viable reason not would be if there was a daily maintenance going on at certain hours that would cause such an obvious delay in data delivery. Now this could be the case, but at current morning speeds... well I just don't drink that much coffee.

But the answer is for AZB to correct the problem (or at least tell us why there is a problem). I am not changing my schedule for this problem and so... I don't visit AZB much these days. I have the luxury of coming here almost anytime that I choose, but the time that I have always chosen doesn't work for me anymore with these speeds.

Not knocking what you've said here JAM... I'm just saying that after all of this time, coming back later has gotten old. There is a time for patience because it's the internet and Zhit happens. But when all 5 of the city workers seem to be standing around while no one is digging at the hole... it's time to kick somebody in the ass or just go shake your head and walk away.

It's not so bad, Diogenes...
...at least nobody has stole your lamp yet.
:)

It's not only in the morning........the problem is spreading.......band width must be an issue for this site.

the speed this morning is as it should be...normal...whatever you did to get this speed up at this time of the morning, DON"T TOUCH ANYTHING! thank you for your cooperation in getting this problem fixed!

now you've done it! somebody fuqed with the settings...it is AFTER 7 am and it is timing out in some cases........put the setting back the way it was 1 hour ago!
