It took me several attempts to post in this thread.
Yes, this forum runs slow every single morning for a few hours. I'm used to it. I just move to FB and hang out for a while and then come back if I want to read something on AzBilliards forum.
I have a fast computer, strong computer, 12GB RAM, i7 processor, and this forum sometimes feels like I have a gerbil-driven computer.
It isn't going to change. We've been complaining about it for a long while. Just don't read or post in the morning. Problem solved. :grin-square:
Let's see if this post goes through this time. I've saved it on a copy-and-paste, just in case I get another error message.
I both agree and disagree with the above...
I will never get used to slow bandwidth at 6:00am or 7:00am on the east coast, when that should be the fastest time of the day to be on AZB... fewer users because everyone west of me is still in bed. Most every other site out there zips at that time of the morning.
My computer is a water-cooled mega-monster with dual SLI-graphics, that can handle as much graphics streaming and multi-tasking that I can throw at it... Yet a simple single site called AZB turns it into a turtle in the morning. This has been going on for months and seems to be getting worse.
Respectfully... the answer is not as simple as go play somewhere else and come back later in the day. That is not "Problem Solved", but more
Problem Ignored by AZB, as most people have work lives away from AZB and need to be scheduled with their time.
Last week I received (a welcomed) phone call from
PINKLADY and during our conversation she mentioned that she hadn't seen me on AZB in a long time. Well, this is a big part of the reason why.
I used to find it very relaxing first thing in the morning to drink a cup of coffee or two while cruising the forums and keeping up with the latest news, rants and other info... and even occasionally a reply to a thread (or one of my own) here and there. I'd even shadow it in the background while I worked on other task, if there was some topic of discussion that held my interest... ect...
I've built and constructed many websites over the years (a few much larger than AZB) and I'm telling you that this bandwidth lag could be (and should have already have been corrected). The only viable reason not would be if there was a daily maintenance going on at certain hours that would cause such an obvious delay in data delivery. Now this could be the case, but at current morning speeds... well I just don't drink that much coffee.
But the answer is for AZB to correct the problem (or at least tell us why there is a problem). I am not changing my schedule for this problem and so... I don't visit AZB much these days. I have the luxury of coming here almost anytime that I choose, but the time that I have always chosen doesn't work for me anymore with these speeds.
Not knocking what you've said here JAM... I'm just saying that after all of this time, coming back later has gotten old. There is a time for patience because it's the internet and Zhit happens. But when all 5 of the city workers seem to be standing around while no one is digging at the hole... it's time to kick somebody in the ass or just go shake your head and walk away.
