This may make matters worse, or better, but after thinking about this a lot the last couple days, I have decided to start over with the "AZB Cue of the Year" voting. I think it is the best course of action at this point. I hate to make everyone re-vote, but it is merely a click of a button.

No one called me, PM'ed me, or emailed begging me to do this... this was my own decision based on what I feel is right.

I pulled the three cues receiving the least amount of votes in the first poll and replaced them with cues I truly believe need to be in the running for this to really be a serious representation of Cue of the Year.

Right.. wrong.. or indifferent, this is the final! Think of the first poll as the regular season and now we are in the playoffs.

Honorable Mentions go to:

Black Boar "Tikkler Cue"
Gilbert Bubinga Box Cue
Manzino Box Cue
Haley Ebony on Ebony
Mobley "Red Baron"
Fanelli Butterfly
Tucker Hoppe Cue
Sugatree "Ebony Ovals"

Good for you. I still think there are cues that should not be up there, but you will never make everyone happy. It's such a subjective thing. If you can't judge craftsmanship by pictures then that just leaves the art. With art everyone has different tastes. Just my .2 cents

This is great as these pictures capture some elements of cues not seen in the previous poll.
I appreciate your taking the time to critique and evolve as we all attempt to continually improve.

In the previous poll, I took on the Evolution as my favorite of the bunch.
After careful consideration, something else has captured my cue interest and passion.
I did change my vote!
To you Jaime.

I have read all the replies to the previous thread and I have learned a lot about how certain people react. It's rather enlightening actually. Jamie you handled yourself exactly the way I thought you would. Nothing but integrity and repectfulness. Others should be ashamed of themselves. My two and half year old twin boys act better than this.

My vote stayed the same - Randy Mobley. I voted for this cue because it has everything. Handmade veneers and boxes. Incredible design which was original and creative. Just the right amount of inlays. His execution was perfect.

There are many deserving cues from this lineup to be considered AZ Cue of the Year!

Good Luck to All!

Chris

This cue or the Barry Gambler are two cues that either would be a dream come true for me.
You having both must be a Grand Feeling I am sure when you look at these.
Great design and great work with traditional tools.

Some body wake me I'm dreaming. I can't explain the way I'm feeling right now , lets just say I'm having a moment. I won the senior moto-cross nationals this year and it did not feel this good , thanks so much. for five years I wanted to splice a cue this way and my mind kept telling me it can't be done. well I finally did it. I think , me taking a few summer months off to go racing cleared my head for cue building. Thanks Jamie great post! and thanks to all that vote!

Not to be a baby, as some were in the original thread. However, I believe the cues dropped out of the original vote, should at least get an honorable mention. Still great cues, to say the least. Thanks.

Completely valid point and a gross oversight on my part without a doubt! I have revised the post. Thanks for pointing this out Troy.

Thanks Jamie, a fantastic thread with very well deserving cues! You did a great job working through this with all the flak.

Hittin It Hard

The D. Hill cue is my pick for sure. I know these cues real well. I own the BEST PLAYING HILL cue made. My cue should be up here for AZB cue of the year. Plays good, Looks good, Is good. No doubt. His cues are for players, They have the high end cue look and still have awesome play ability. All these other cues look great and probably do play good. I just can't get myself to vote for a cue that looks like the flower wall paper in my grandmas house.

All these cues are beautiful works of art. It's just a matter of taste which cue you prefer.
What impresses me is something that has not been done before, something new and creative. Doing a splice into a cored handle that's a first.
I feel this will be the beginning of a new trend in cue building.
My hat is off to Mr. Hill for pushing the envelope on new and creative ideas.

My hats to Jamie for a great thread... this is big time reward for the 2010 greatest cues of the year as this is the world wide web. I feel its one of AZB best post. so with that said , whats the reward well with no sponsor Jamie's the man. we won't see a of cash or prizes, but I feel the top ten deserve a certificate made by Jamie , because saying and telling is one thing but showing prof is another . I feel a certificate should be issued to the top 10, that would mean a lot.I feel when the cue is passed on it should have this certificate with . D Hill

Great idea Mr. Hill. I will make this happen. Those of you coming to VF, I will have your certificates there. For all others, please PM your address.
